What does Gas cost in your area?

One of the reasons most of us bought hybrids is to save some money on gas. It seems that this decision is back in the forefront as gas prices have skyrocketed back to their old outrageous levels of last year.

What is gas going for in your area?

Here in San Jose on 3/17 the cheapest regular was $3.039 for regular and $3.269 for premium.

That makes a tank worth $38.00!

When we bought the car in November of last year gas was only $2.239. It now costs 35% more to operate the car, but it is still much cheaper than the car it replaced!

Gas is $2.34 at the station up the street from me right now. It was $2.55 last week.

Around $3. I can tell when gas prices are getting outrageous when people start asking me about the car more ;) Check http://www.gasbuddy.com/ for prices everywhere.

Just under 2.40 in my area, but closer to downtown Houston it's 2.40-2.50.

Here in the Denver, Colorado area, $2.499 for regular unleaded seems to be the norm.

I need to move out of Los Angeles.... I paid $3.05 (regular) at Costco on Thursday. I think it went up another 5 cents since then! Costco has one of the cheapest gas around.

I love the cost of living in California. Gas prices near my home in suburban LA are around $3.10. And the houses here are real affordable too.

Exbauer... was this for a different car? Your HCHII shouldn't need premium. Stick with the cheaper stuff and save some money!

BTW, $3.09 here in Orange County, CA (for the 87 octane stuff).

Re: What does Gas cost in your area?

Exbauer... Just found the answer... forgat that you traded to an Si from your HCHII. That explains the premium! Sure glad I don't need the premium for my HCHII. $3.09 is bad enough!!!

Paid $2.32 for 87 octane regular yesterday in San Antonio, Texas. I have seen it as low as $2.25 and as high as $2.45.

Personally I don't mind the CA "sunshine" tax. Where I live my heating and air con. bill is zilch. ;)

It seems like oil co's are trying to pull a fast one on us again. Their probably looking to top last years record profits. You'd think they'd back off after Dubya handed them the juicy Iraq oil contracts. Hmm, guess not

Re: What does Gas cost in your area?

I just had a price decrease here. Last weekend I put premium into my maxima at 3.07. The next fill will be around 2.80 into the new Civic.

A web site I really like to watch prices is

http://www.fuelgaugereport.com/

So when I think I am paying too much I lookup at the prices in California. It makes me feel better. Well just a little bit.

Fuel prices are really up in Chicagoland. The closest station to home (and one of my favorites) was @ $2.79!

I filled up $2.69 this am... then saw a station near work @ $2.62 - Murphy's law in action - fill up and the fuel prices will fall.

I found gas for 2.75 for unleaded in Phoenix Arizona.

Here on Long Island, we are averaging about $2.89 a gallon for regular unleaded. Definitely been heading north over the past few weeks. Don't mind as much as a few months ago when I was filling up my truck every third or fourth day.

I think it's around $3.20 or so now in So. CA. Jeez, we're getting reamed.

Re: What does Gas cost in your area?

Nashville, TN. $2.52 and rising. Here we go again.

I strongly suggest if you own a Hybrid, hang onto it. If you are thinking of purchasing one do it now while Interest rates and Hybrid prices are way down.
