Re: Calling any post-April 2006 owners!
Checked with my local dealer regarding my 05 HAH. They checked their on-line systems and said there is nothing shown for the 05.
While the person that seems to do the most hybrids there said it would probably/possibly work he would not want to take the chance just in case the old revision of firmware could not be placed back in it.
I can understand their caution, but its not really what I wanted to hear.
The HAH is so powerful IMO I rarely see any assist happening, there seems to be no need. Dont get me wrong, I see some but not during every start from a stop or while going up a hill while riding with load. It only stays on for a few seconds too no matter how I manage the acceleration.
I think my HAH could benefit from a system that gives up assist more easily and frequently.
So far, all the FE IMO definately comes from the engine cyl management and auto stop functionality.
My HAH gets the mpg indicated on the window sticker, I am happy with it however I am positive it could do a little better if the assist was more active.
Any other 05 owners check with their dealers? Any luck?

I am now about 4 tanks into my software update. My usual 30% highway and 70% city driving mileage has increased from 28 to 30. My pure highway driving mileage has increased from 35 to 38 mpg. So, I have definitely noticed a difference in BOTH situations. These numbers look to me to be similar to the mileage numbers listed for the '05 and the '07 HAH.

I noticed the overall mileage in the database for the HAH increased by 1 MPG. Must be all of you '06 owners.

Hello,
My 2006 Accord Hybrid, purchased in May, typically yields between 6.0 to 6.5 liters / 100 km. The best round trip fuel economy, achieved only once or twice over a 265 km round trip, was 5.8 liters/100 km. Due to heavy traffic volume on highway 14 in Southern California, I normally get 6.3 to 6.5 liters/100 km, although very heavy traffic volume in the Santa Clarita valley on highway 14 has yielded 6.7 liters/100 km over the past two days.

Re: Calling any post-April 2006 owners!
I bought my 06' HAH on Monday the 6th of November and so far have put about 151 miles on it. I Checked the VIN # in the engine compart right behind the engine and did not see a punch mark on it so i don't know if the dealer put the upgrade on the vehicle before I bought it. However, on the first 150 miles I am driving pretty conservatavly and am reading 27.1mpg. Not sure if this is normal or where to look to see if my VIN is included in the update. Checked the door panel and the vehicle was manufractured in 7/06. Any help would be great. Oh, and when I fill up for the first time I will make sure to post my tank info.

Hello Lawrence Aitken,
Your 27.1 MPG is probably due to engine break-in. My car took approx. 10,000 km (more than 6000 miles) to break in. Prior to that, fuel consumption was 7.0 liters / 100 km (i.e. 33.7 MPG) even in nearly pure highway driving during the first 1000 km, and it gradually improved until it reached about 6.0 to 6.2 liters / 100 km after 10,000 km (with an occasional 5.8 liters / 100 km at times ).

Re: Calling any post-April 2006 owners!
I got mine 1 Sept 2006, and now have 3000 mi. Getting 28.5 mpg per display driven carefully in 20 mi round trip commute with a fair bit of traffic, stop and go, and not much highway speed driving. When the car was neary new, I got 36 mpg average driving from Ky to NJ through WV mountains. Looks like 37-38 at 65-70 mpg, or pretty much what the sticker rating was. I was surprised to find better mileage with the cruise control on compared to very carefully moderating speed, allowing a slight slowdown going uphill and recovering on the downhills. Really very surprised.

Re: Calling any post-April 2006 owners!
Is there a way to tell if a particular HAH has had the update? The HAH I'm looking at seems to fall under VIN range that would need the update according to the TSB in this thread. Is there a way to tell if this particular car had the update? The last few numbers of the VIN are 6C001520...
Thanks.
Thanks.
