06 MPG Tank Accuracy?

We all know the dash reads a few MPG better than the MPG we calculate at the pump for the 03,04 and 05 HCHs.

Maybe they fixed that on the 06.

Question for owners of the 2006s:
How accurate is the MPG reading on the dash for a whole tank?

The only true way to measure is divide the amount of gas you put in against the miles you put on. then look at what the car told you and calculate.

I know that.

I also know the dash is not accurate on previous year's HCHs.

My question is if the 06 HCH is more accurate.

Mine is extremely inaccurate but it sounds like not everyone has that problem. It was reading around 35 or 36 mpg for the first tank, but I got 37.9. For the second, it was reading 41-42 but I got 38.5. But mine is really strange because it can change by 6-7 mpg even with 300 miles on it already, which makes no sense.

But NASA reports his stays predictable and changes only very slowly after alot of miles are put on the trip meter.

Actually, my dash display is never more than 2 or 3 off - in either direction. Maybe I just lucked out with my car.

I just filled up for the first time. Trip mileage was 47.8 and calculated mileage was 48.7.
