2012 Civic Hybrid sitting idle for months
 

Hi all,

My father-in-law is no longer able to drive. His Civic hybrid has been sitting idle for months. We jump started it today and it ran but did not keep the charge as it will not start again without a jump.

Any suggestions?

If we need a new 12V battery, any ideas where I could get a good price?

A 3-4 year old battery was allowed to be depleted. It's dead. You need a new one.

You buy one where you normally buy 12V batteries. Dealer, auto parts store, walmart, etc.

151r can be replaced with 51r, standard Civic 12v battery. Got mine at Costco. Not sure if 2012 used different sized battery. Good luck!
