clayk,

I concurr that cold weather is taking a hit on your fuel economy. Recent trips on my Insight have gone from 75mpg to 70mpg - difference would be greater if my work communte was shorter than 25 miles.

The MPG in my 03 rose from 45.5 to just over 50 (average) after the upgrade, so I definitely experienced an improvement (this was over the summer). However the weather now is in the 30's, and I'm getting 44-45 again. I've owned my car for 12 seasons now. Weather will have an impact on your FE. Cold and rain will certainly lower it. 6 MPG is a tough hit, but not out of the question.
