Colors for new Hybrids
I currently have on order an 06 HCH in magnetic pearl or Galaxy Grey metallic. My question is what color is magnetic pearl? I can't find anything on this color as far as an explanation to a shade or a similarity. To me, it looks like a purple/bluish color. Or is it black? I would think if it was black that the word black would be in the description.

galaxy gray metallic

Re: Colors for new Hybrids
Hey Larry, where abouts are you from in the Philly Burbs? I grew up just over the state line in DE. In fact, I was down there this past weekend. I was so bumbed that the Eagles lost last night!!
I have found the exterior colors section on the website but I don't think that gives a good indication of the actual color of the vehicle. I guess I need to go to the dealer and look at a Magnetic Pearl in a non-hybrid. |
Re: Colors for new Hybrids
Magnetic Pearl is only found on the 2006 HCH. It's not on any of the non-hybrid Civics. Galaxy Gray is, however.

Seriously, I agree. Since the Hybrid and non-Hybrid are nearly identical (Please lets not start an analysis of this statement with replies of all the diffrences!) I would think most of the bodies exterior parts (painted in Tango Red Pearl, Atomic Blue Metalic or Royal Blue Pearl) could be used to build the Hybrid. Maybe because the Hybrids are built in Japan and not the North America, they don't no how to assemle a brightly colored car ! |
Re: Colors for new Hybrids
Actually, Honda's just trying to use as few colors as it can get away with. Since far fewer hybrids will be produced than regular Civics, it's much easier to move cars if the options and colors are as limited as possible. So there are two options (with or without nav) and five colors. The old model also had five colors.
Personally, I was upset with the color selection at first, but it's not that bad in my opinion. Galaxy Gray looks pretty good, especially when its tan hue is showing, boring silver actually looks good with the new body, and Honda's extensive collection of Opal Silver Blue photos on their website and brochure show that color looks really good. Well my Opal HCH arrived today and I'll be picking it up tomorrow so I'll upload photos when I do. I hope it looks as good as the photos. |

I'm also getting the Opal. I'll go with the Alabaster Silver. It's the only other color (except awful white) that isn't too dark. |

Re: Colors for new Hybrids
silver is nice but, the interior is black for dash, blue for seats, and tan for the upper part of the doors.
Ivory seats matching the doors makes more sence. And, alas, silver does not have ivory interior. White (gasp) does :embarass: And, as ugly as it is popular, it's a light color, and has a matching interior. And, that's what i ordered. |

Hi Dqdave:
___Besides the color discussion, you will have the perfect opportunity to give us the side by side comparison (thoughts and feelings) between the Prius II and HCH II. I look forward to your many responses in regards to that as well! ___Good Luck ___Wayne R. Gerdes |
Re: Colors for new Hybrids
I know I like them both, for different reasons. I'm addicted to fun and cars. And they are both fun.
And I look up to you for advice on these two happy cars. :D |

different is good. Never be a conformist.
Stay different tiger. but blue? and tan sides? Couldn't it have been blue sides. :omg: opps, wrong thread. I should be in "what do I wish the 06 hch had" |

Re: Colors for new Hybrids
I got the nice Eternal Blue Pearl color the only year it was offered for the HCH. I wish they made the new HCHs in this color. Oh well, I guess I can take solace in the fact that I have a one-of-a-kind. It might help to stave off pangs of jealousy at the awesome new '06s you folks are starting to pick up.

Re: Colors for new Hybrids
Yeah, you're right about the Eternal Blue Pearl color. I have that color on my wife's 2003 Honda CR-V and we both really like it! It's such a rich looking blue.
