Filled up next to an H2

I filled up yesterday, first time in over three weeks. I pulled up next to an H2, then and Expedition pulled in behind me. We started talking and they were really curious. They asked how I was doing. One of them had read the CR article, and when I told him this tank was at 49 mpg on my display, he was skepticle. I had him pop in and look, 596 miles and 49.3 mpg. He was impressed.

The H2 guy had to use 2 credit cards to fill up since the pump shut off at $50. Took a total of $82 to fill up.

BTW: when I did the hand calculation, my MPG was really 46. I was disappointed since I thought I had done much better. Usually my display is much closer to the hand calculated MPG.

My display is usually 3.5 MPG off on the low side. Funny comment about the H2. $82 in gas will get me more than 1500 miles.

Not a joke, I saw a Hummer Hybrid yesterday. Is this some sort of sick joke?

Interesting...it seems like every time I pass a gas station all that's there are SUV's and somber faces..eventually it will end when the auto makers shift out of that mode and into conservation mode and all that will be left are junk yards full of recycled SUV steel to be molded into hybrids.. Also in a lighter tone, too bad the auto makers didn't have the guts to develop cheap H2 technology back when it first was developed for spaceflight. We would all be driving hydrogen vehicles with our own backyard H2 processing plants making cheap fuel for peanuts using solar panels for power. Oh well, I digress....(;-)

I noticed those somber faces on my way home last night.
In fact I waved at them (Nobody saw it) and shouted to my self "See you later.....NOT!

Guess I'm going crazy or something.
But at +900 miles/tank it really takes the sting out of the high price.

Just filled our Grand Caran today. $48.00. OUCH!

Just got back from a Colorado vacation - lot's of inquiries about my hybrid, so referred them to this site. :)

In a couple of days, I will reveal something parked near me that dwarfs an H2. :omg:

Actually it is not a joke.

Hummer does have a hybrid.

They also have created a number of H2H, representing Hummer 2 Hydrogen. Yup Hummer is on the ball with the hydrogen technology.

Sometimes it is good to work for GM.

I've heard somwhere the H3 for next year will have a pickup version.

Considerably larger. 10 foot bed or something like that.
Hungrier.

Wonder how many will sell?

The H3T (Truck) looks awsome but is just a concept vehicle at this point. The actual H3 will be smaller and more versitle than the H2. So they try to tell me.

My opinion: Hummers are for people who think gas prices are not high enough.

I dunno. Looks kinda like a toy truck to me. But wait, that wouldn't destroy the planet and waste money, resources, and ego. So I guess it's real then.

Looks similar to the Avalanche to me. I'm pretty indifferent on it.

The H3 came out something like 2 or 3 months ago. They're all over the place here in truck-crazy Arizona. It's basically a Chevy Colorado, complete with the wimpy (but economical by Hummer standards) 5-cylinder engine. See? Hummer is downsizing too. You can't even get a 6-cylinder engine!
