Impromptu meet near San Francisco, CA May 27-June 2
 

Hello to any owners near SF (nearly-identical post to my Mesquite, TX thread). My wife and I will be on a vacation trip to San Fran and Orinda during the last week of May and it would be great to meet up with some of my left-coast brothers/sisters from our group. I'm hoping a few folks will already know the owners in the area and be able to organize a quick gathering at a pub or parking lot for a Meet and Greet. Who is around the SF area and willing to start something?

If you turn left when you hit I-5 and just go a short distance (based upon the miles YOU ride), you'll be in LA. Pick a spot anywhere around here and I'll be there!!! Actually, I was in your "neighborhood" this week. Just got back from Philadelphia. Okay... not exactly the neighborhood, but at least it was in your state!

Yeah, heck, you were only 360 miles away and that is how far SF is from LA. If I would be out there with my car I would make the drive in a heartbeat but we'll be flying and I'll be borrowing my old car ('95 Mitsu 3000GT VR-4) which has an EPA rating of about 18/24 (new numbers of 16/18). Remember that I drove out to SF last year to sell it to my friend and that was a 2,700-mile trip in about 3.5 days.

Thanks, Kirb. I'll be sure to wave at every Hybrid I see just in case it is a list member. We will be anywhere from SF to Half Moon Bay to Monterey so we'll have to see who can get together for this.

Sorry to have such a delay in responding but a new job in mid-March has kept me super-busy and also dropped me from the uber-mileage ranks (I was averaging 1,000 miles a week and now that is down to under 250 miles a week). I also know a little more of our plans in San Fran (Giants game this Sat, off to Monterey and Half Moon Bay for Sun-Tue, back to SF for Wed-Sat, and leave Sun). If I pass one of you folks I'll wave as you laugh at my ride for the week (my former car which I sold to my friend there - a black 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 all-wheel drive and 20 mpg for the 20-gal tank -- and I think it has racing numbers on it and decals from the various track days at Buttonwillow, Sears Point, Thunderhill, etc.). I can't *wait* to see what the gas prices are next week. I should actually turn down the chance to drive my former sportscar and rent an Aveo or something for the week.

ABSOLUTELY !!! Post up the address and date/time and we'll see if we can make it. We arrive at 11 tonight and have plans to be at the Giants game tomorrow night and Mon-Thur are in Half Moon Bay/Monterey so hopefully it will be on a free night for us. Keep me posted. Thanks.

Artichoke Joe's is a great club in San Bruno about 1 or 2 miles from San Francisco Intl. Airport. Would that work?

That sounds perfect. We will be near SOMA anyway or maybe will leave the Giants game early for Poker. What nights do they play there and what times or is it a 24x7 facility? I see it is listed as a "Casino Club" so lemme know.
