Which remote for an ’03 Civic Hybrid?

I just bought the car and it didn’t come with remotes. I saw two kinds on Ebay, this two button type:

and this three button type with a trunk release button:

Can I use the three button one? The car has a mechanical trunk lid release by the drivers seat but does it have an electric release that the remote can access.

My '05 came with the two button version you have pictured. The mechanical trunk lid release does not sound the same way to me that an electric release does, and there is nothing about it in the instruction book, so I would guess that it does not work with an electric release. However, it is just a guess- I do not know for certain.

According to the '03 Owner's Manual available at https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/logon.asp the key you want is the 2 button one.

Because the manual is tedious to review (it has been uploaded to that site in a piecemeal fashion) I have attached the relevant pages here.
