Top 5 Tips for Maximum MPG
Hello everyone,
I've been very impressed by and encouraged to see the amount of knowledge held by the members of this forum! So, to all of you owners out there, I'm asking for your personal Top 5 Tips for Maximum MPG. Not necessarily situation specific, just everyday driving tips. I'm interested in what we all find out here... Jordan |

Tip #1: look for CHP, find one, be on your best behavior until out-of-sight. It'll definately help maximize FE.

Some of the stuff in this is pretty Insight specific, but other parts are useful for almost any Honda Hybrid:

Re: Top 5 Tips for Maximum MPG
1) Slow down. Definately #1
2) FAS if safe to do so (for both you and your car) on downhills and when coasting to a light, stop sign or left turn. Very important in hilly areas, not so important for flatlanders. 3) Conserve momentum (drive as if brakes failed, SAFELY). This includes curves and trying to time stop light so you don't hafta stop. 4) Learn your route and try new things. Nothing like the homefield advantage. 5) Maintain your car, check tire pressure (high as possible), oil (as lightweight as possible), spark plugs/wires, etc. You can draft or surf but I think those are dangerous. |
