Silver paint colors, help!
 

We just bought a silver 2000 that was missing a trim piece, I ordered a replacement in Silverstone Metallic, but it seems the car has been painted and it doesn't match (the piece is lighter than the rest of the car... it's not like the car is faded, and on the records we have it has been to a paint and body shop before).

I read on Insight Central that the color of the silver changed in 2002, but when looking at the parts on the Majestic Honda website for 2002, and even 2005, the color is still Silverstone metallic. So did the silver change or not?

If the color did change I'm thinking maybe they painted it the new silver instead of the old silver? I'm hoping that is the case so I can try getting a used replacement piece, otherwise I'll have to get the one I bought painted.

Well the Sebring Silver, color that "replaced" Silverstone Metallic, is actually lighter... so my theory was wrong. I'm starting to think it was painted Magnesium Metallic, the same color as my HCH. Looks like I'll have to get the piece painted.
