SHANGHAI - November 7, 2007: The president of Chinese automaker BYD, Wang Chuanfu, said in Shenzhen that his company will start volume production of dual mode electric cars called F6DM in the second half of next year. BYD's dual mode vehicle is, at the same time, an Electric Vehicle (EV) and a Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV). I certainly wish them well with this product, but China is famously the only country where Prius has sold far below expectations. If I see any on the road I shall try to take a photo.

Yesterday, a not-so-well-educated friend of mine asked about my 2008 Pirus "Your cars is half hybrid right?"
I didn't know whether to laugh or sigh. So I said, "no it's full hybrid", he then said he wasn't aware that Prius came in electric only. I then sighed... :D |
