BWAHAHAHAHAHA

farking sissies...

nice real world numbers...

i've got 10x the HP and 100X the torque and get better mileage...

****...

okay so maybe only 2x the hp and 3-5x the torque... and i can burn 100% renewable fuel...

*steps off diesel platform

not so bad - but imaging if there was a diesel hybrid listed there....

and MPG wise it seems to me the liberty CRD does better than that fugly 2wd escape (not to mention the CRD is 4x4...)

hell doesn't the sprinter do as well as the Escape? whassa point?

Good proof, that smoking diesel is bad for your health.

Whats a sprinter or liberty? Are they SUVs?

Re: Hybrids a joke?

A Liberty is the small Jeep SUV.. No idea about a Sprinter..

Re: Hybrids a joke?

The Sprinter is a van made by Freightliner and used by Dodge...

http://www.dodge.com/sprinter/

And... D-C's purchase of the Jeep name proves that two negatives do not make a positive!!! It will always be a Jeep/Chrysler product.

And as far as mileage? From Edmumds.com... Manual: 21 mpg / 27 mpg.

Can one say "Crap" on the Internet?

Re: Hybrids a joke?

I drive purpose built cars

my vette has 560-570 hp and is a weekend / nice day car or when I want some adreniline for breakfast :)

Jetta TDI is for running around town and car pooling the kids to school

Excursion 6.0 PSD is for hauling things and towing (its now sold due to not needing it anymore)

I would love my TDI to be a hybrid and have the feature of an EV button. upping my 46-49 hwy #s into the 60s would rock. Lower my 3,000 rpm at 80 mph to 2K at 80 mph would be great with electric assist.

more power to ya

I don't understand people who takes sides so strongly. I've got a Civic Hybrid for comfort and mileage, a Vette for speed and reasonable economy and a truck for towing and hauling much like iboomdude. I be happy to have a TDI or an Accord euro diesel if I had a purpose for them. When someone finally make a diesel hybrid that will be the bomb. If you like your TDI or whatever that is fine with me but I'm by no means a sissy for driving a hybrid. As iboomdude says vehicles serve a purpose and if we are gonna race, I'll be driving the Vette. If we are going for mileage I'll be driving the HCH. The TDI will loose to both.

I've always been a guy who buys whatever suits my needs best at the time reguardless of politics. My computers have both Intel and AMD cpus and both nVidia and ATI video cards depending on the needs of the system. Got a Ford a Chevy and a Honda for cars. Why take sides? You shoot yourself in the foot if you limit your options.

Well said, lakedude.

Diesel people are suffering from group cognitive dissonance. They are trying to rationalize what in hindsight feels like a poor decision. I bet the most common question an owner of a diesel car gets is "err.. why ?" "uhh, well, because I *like* the smell of diesel. And it makes me feel good to know I pollute 5x more than just about anyone else. AND, I *only* paid a couple of grand more to get around 30 mpg in the city. Isn't that GREAT !?!"

Brilliant, guy. Brilliant.

I didn't make a poor choice my diesel hold its value better than gasser or hybrids

Diesel when I bought mine was 20 cents less per gallon

"uhh, well, because I *like* the smell of diesel.
modern diesels don't smell like older ones And it makes me feel good to know I pollute 5x more than just about anyone else.[/quote] granted it puts out more PM but its heavy PM that falls to the ground and gets washed away instead of causing acid rain

AND, I *only* paid a couple of grand more to get around 30 mpg in the city. Isn't that GREAT !?!"
I get 40-42 city and 46-49 hwy and thats real MPG not inflated computer #s and I always buy a car thats atleast 1-2 yrs old to save on intial hit
---------------------------------------

might remember a diesel gets close to the same MPG and has more torque without the assist of electric or engine off and has less engine problems and will last longer than a gasser even a hybrid gasser.

The meta one when introduced will SPANK a FEH in mpg / power / size / 0-60 and possibly emmissions.

might want to give diesel's a little more respect.
