I've had both. I've had it flash, steady, then off. The OBD was just spitting out P0300, but the OBDII pointed to P0308. I have an appointment with my mechanic to replace the #8 coil, wire and plug (Since it's a ***** to get to, I'm going to let them do it). I already bought the plugs and wires, and so I'll replace the rest myself. $300 was his quote to do just the #8 coil.

He sees nothing in the freeze frame data that there is anything else wrong with the hybrid battery or system. He believes ALL my problems are going to be solved with a clean coil, plug and wire. I guess we'll just have to see...

I misfiring cylinder with FLASHING Check Engine Light means you are doing damage to the catalytic converters. And yes it will throw the hybrid system off trying to correct for the impulses.


I thought I read that post about #8. That spark plug is real difficult to get to and if a plug wire was damaged trying to service that plug...
