I could never really confirm that the solar panel was providing any MPG benefit. So, I removed it. Dealership thought it was pretty cool and asked a lot of questions, though.

I have been having the identical problem as of late. I do understand there might be a few things that can and will affect MPG/FE in ALL cars.
That being said,

I have a 2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid that has recently dropped its fuel range significantly approximately 3 fillups ago, my car has about 55,000 miles and I have identified one fault of mine which is that I have not yet replaced the air filter. Which I have ordered a K&N air filter and will monitor accordingly.

What I have ruled out:
*Tire Pressure: I inflate at 40 psi (a lil bit higher than minimum 35 psi)
*Oil change: I regularly get oil changes at every 3000 miles with conventional oil, I know synthetic is better but we have almost always been using conventional and NEVER had this problem before.
*Driving Technique: I employ hypermiling techniques as often as I can, with the exception of FAS or other crazy things. But I do not gun it in my car, and lately have been doing mostly city driving @ less than 45 mph and often times I coast lower so I can engage the EV mode.
*Type of Gas: I use Chevron gas as well (regular grade).
*A/C use: is minimumly used as of late as the temperature has lowered.

What I know could be affecting it:
Air Filter needs to be changed
Temperature change
Synthetic oil substitution

However, I am very skeptical that the above items could account for almost 200 mile difference in fuel range/actual miles in a car.

My wife noticed that if we turn on the a/c the range plummets, I might drive a half of a mile and the range drops by 10 miles! This can't be normal. And if we drive with it off completely, it still drops 3-6 miles per half mile versus 10. I dont think the air filter can affect the car THAT much. Any ideas? I have looked on other forums and realcanook, you are the only one I have found to perfectly describe the symptoms and you coincidentally (maybe not a coincidence) have a 2007 NAH AND live in SoCal. I also am worried/irritated/frustrated with the situation. I KNOW how dealerships are too....

I have talked to Nissan Corp and it appears i'm the first one to call and actually complain to them about my poor fuel economy.

Has anybody else seen or heard of this??? I've tried everything and feel extremely frustrated with the poor results of my new car. Any input would be greatly appreicated.

Your post is too vague and it also implies your commute/routine has changed. Looking at the range isn't that helpful. I have no NAH but have owned 2 Nissans w/trip computers. The DTE (distance to empty) will be all over the place esp. on short trips. It will potentially be way off after fill up and can vary wildly when nearly empty. Don't bother. Please tell us what your mileage is for an entire tank, not short fills via manual calculations, what you got before and what you are expecting.

Clogged air filters apparently don't affect mileage significantly on modern cars. Yes, the temperature has dropped, which will affect mileage. For "so I can engage the EV mode.", you might be driving it wrong. If you are trying to keep the ICE off while accelerating, that's not the most efficient way to drive. It's a paradox that w/hybrids, even though you have a battery, you want to minimize use of it.

I can tell you that from monitoring draw from the HV battery on my Prius (also has electric AC), it can draw a huge amount of power compared to idling w/o. On my 2nd gen Prius, idling w/ICE off pulls 1.3-2 amps from the HV battery (at ~220 volts). The AC compressor can make it go as high as 9.x amps.
