How much corruption can you stomach ? Or the nation's economy tolerate before direct adverse consequences are apparent ?
bush seems motivated to find out. Incidentaly, that bill now allows states to decide HOV occupancy. |

Great. NOW they offer a tax credit (which I could use), rather than a tax deduction (which was useless to a non-itemizer like me). It doesn't pay to be an early adopter.

sounds like time you amended your tax return with a 1040-x. The hybrid deduction you mention does not require itemization to take advantage of. It is entered BEFORE the AGI. Look it up on the IRS website. Enjoy your belated holiday gift :-) addendum: Actually, I see you have a 2005 car, so you will probably get the money on the 2005 tax year return. |

Yup. I bought the car this March, so it'll be in my 2005 return. TurboTax better ask the question next year. Still, a credit is about 7* better for me than a deduction -- a low marginal rate is kind of a good-news, bad-news thing.
