Mileage Database 2.0 Launched

The next-genereation Real Hybrid Mileage Database has been released! Visit it now in the Compare section.

I have a few more features and instructions in store for 2.1, but everything's functional and active! Enjoy.

Jason,

I don't understand the new criteria for Hypermiler. Would you give an explanation on the city/highway information?

Yeah. I need to come up with a better way to word that. The member must have 3,000 miles logged. The member must also beat EPA. But since EPA provides a city number and a highway number, and members input what % they drive highway on the "edit car" page, the database is able to weight the city/highway figures proportionately. If no highway % is specified, the EPA's 45/55% is used.

We lost several of the 400h's in the transition. Mine was only re-actvated by re-entering a bunch of the car description data. And....it won't accept the model year 2006!

I still have all the old data, so I can fix it if need be. I wonder why the RX's were lost. There's only one version, so I didn't deactivate them if they didn't define wheel-drive or transmission. I'll look into it.

What do you mean it won't accept 2006?

I see the 2006 problem. No idea why it's happening, by the way. I can't locate it in the code. Looking into it. Until I figure it out, I've temporarily disabled the year check. It'll work now.

I fixed the RX's. There are now 9 active. Good?

Re: Mileage Database 2.0 Launched

Let me make sure I understand the City/Highway.

Since on most of my tanks I have said highway is 33% of the ride time that would mean 66% is city. My avg should be 47.19. Correct? Using 45/55 then my average should be 47.45.

Jason,

I think I found a little problem with the Civic CVT and MT. At the top of "their" page in the database you have the EPA estimates reversed. The MT shows 47/48 while the CVT has 46/51.

Re: Mileage Database 2.0 Launched

First off, city/highway percentages are no longer dealt with at the tank level. Instead, there is a single field on the car level. You'll need to edit your car and redefine it. Whatever highway percentages you used for tanks in the past is still stored internally, but for Version 2 they serve no purpose.

I'll double-check the Civic figures.
