Re: Battery fan Fault codes return after buying new fans

Did you inspect all of the refrigerant lines running from the A/C compressor up front to the rear battery compartment? Sometimes these leak.

Re: Bumper match to what years of Escape?

Even if you do find a replacement back door and bumper covers that 'fit', its likely the cooling lines/vents for the hybrid system in back or radiator up front are also damaged, which is why your...

Re: Replaced 2007 Nav, how to reset to get car information

It seems like almost anyone over the years who had attempted to replace OEM Ford navigation systems with another Ford unit has ended up frustrated, but there could have been some success stories!
I...

Re: HV battery charged, car won't start, engine won't turn

The 2008 model was rated at 155 net hp while 2009 and later were 177hp. Iím assuming the battery configuration was changed in some ways with the newer powetrain. By the time the 2009s were built,...

Re: HV battery charged, car won't start, engine won't turn

I bet this problem solving can be confusing because the 2009-12 Escape hybrid has a different battery pack and charging system than the 2005-08. As I recall while the earlier models had 330V packs, ...

Re: 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid won't start.Wrench & Triangle light up,says Stop Safely N

In general, the problem is probably not the 12v battery since you were able to get it running, but if it is weak (but not dead), it could be causing some issues. . The solution could be simple like a...

Re: Anyone else have brake issues pop up after getting pads replaced? (2008)

I remember reading the FEH used different metallic brake pads than conventional Escapes, wonder if your replacement pads were different? Also many FEHs have had the ABS tone rings fail, which causes...

Re: HV cooling fan recreation

OP, curious if you did a thorough pressure/leak test of the cooling system and A/C lines that run the length of the vehicle? These have been a point of failure on some early FEHs, as the lines can be...

Re: 277000 sadly RIP... what next?

The '08 has the newer body style but same powertrain as 05-07. 09-12 was a different drivetrain, but will share some parts like suspension, wheels/tires, etc. Don't forget Mercury Mariners too!

Re: Decision Time - should I stay or should I go?

I like Subarus and considered the Forester XT also. But I wasn't too excited about its not so great gas mileage and premium fuel requirement for max performance. Not exciting when premium gas is...

Re: Escape turns on, goes into ev mode and will not go when gas is pressed.

Like a lot of FEH issues, it's hard to really know what's going on without plugging it in to a Ford scanner.
A trained tech could check the tune/fuel trim of the gas engine and also make sure all...

Re: ABS Light on Regen Brakes Disabled with 3 codes, HELP!

The '08 has a different hybrid drivetrain and braking system than the 09-12. For example, later models had an anti-rollover system built in to the brakes that I believe Ford called Electronic...

Re: Very High Engine Rev for Low Speeds

The drivetrain youíre using went out of production in 2007 (the 09-12 FEH was a different drivetrain ), it could be that the expertise to correctly diagnose them is hard to find, even in places where...

Re: Very High Engine Rev for Low Speeds

If you successfully install a different ICE and catalytic converter, you could still have charging and drivability problems. You also will have a 14 year old HV battery and related components. How...

Re: Replacing hybrid battery with a Propane Fuel Cell

Look at this another way, the FEH has been on the road over 14 years now. The only aftermarket FEH conversions to improve mpg were to PHEV batteries which cost $20,000+ and they only sold a few. ...

Re: 2008 FEH Braking system: Warning lights, soft brakes.

The lack of correlation is because model year 2007-2009 Ford Fusions were not hybrids. 2010 model year Ford Fusion Hybrids could have been sold beginning Jan 1, 2009. It is likely that model year...

Re: Service Brake System warning Ford Escape Hybrid 2007

I was incorrect, I checked the EPA records, and the Ford Fusion Hybrid was introduced in the 2010 model year and was sold through the 2012 year like the FEH.

Re: Service Brake System warning Ford Escape Hybrid 2007

The 2009-12 FEHs have completely different braking and hybrid powertrain systems/software than the 2005-2008s. As you mention, the later model's systems were shared with other Fords like the Fusion...

Re: Very High Engine Rev for Low Speeds

2 tricks I would suggest:
1) put transmission in 'L' and drive around for a while, watch your scanner to see how the regen/assist is going. It's ok to run around in L all the time, I've been doing...

Agree with the other poster, many drivers use batteries...

Re: "Stop Safely Now"

Yes it is difficult to do good diagnostics over the internet. Many stop safely now messages are caused by HV/traction battery overheating. Do you have working cold air conditioning now? If not, your...

Re: FEH 2009 vs 2012

I believe the first generation Ford SYNC system also was installed starting MY2010.
If you have trouble finding a 2010 or 2011 FEH, there were still a few Mercury Mariner hybrids sold those model...

Re: rescuing a clean 05, is there a thread to help me?

An OBD-II scanner should be able to read in real time. Might be a good idea in your case to check fuel trim and get an idea how healthy your engine is.

Re: rescuing a clean 05, is there a thread to help me?

Do you know if your ICE is running the correct air/fuel mixture at idle and wide open throttle (and the range between)? A clogged exhaust might indicate there's some other issues with the engine.

Re: rescuing a clean 05, is there a thread to help me?

Main problem is you don't really know if you are $500 or $5000 away from a good running Escape. If you did know, I don't think you would be posting these questions here. Don't know why you would want...
