Re: Steering feel hugely improved after recall fix?

Re: Oil level importance

In just over 2 years of watching this issue of oil fill level go on in various forums, the argument regarding oil in the galleries and up high in the block while running has been brought up, but as I...

Re: snow handling

Re: how do you cope with the ground clearance?

There is an air dam on the front at the bottom of the bumper. It has changed from the 2004-5 model to a different design on the 2006-7 model. There are also two small spoilers in front of the front...

Re: how do you cope with the ground clearance?

First, avoid potholes. That is good advice for any car owner no matter what the ground clearance. I have not every bottomed out on an unexpected pothole. So, that must have been a very nasty...

Re: 2008 Prius?

It is highly likely that 2008 is not going to be a major redesign year. Probably more of what we have now, tweak the interior, change the color offerings and ship it out again. Toyota will run the...

Re: Cabin Heat on Automatic

Sorry Harry, you are not quite correct on either point.

The AUTO A/C light on the dash indicates that the system is in full automatic mode. Meaning that the vehicle will take care of all aspects...

Re: Back up vision in the 2005 Prius

When in doubt backing up (in any vehicle) don't back up too far. As soon as you are out of your comfort zone in terms of how close you are to an object behind you; put the car in drive and move...

Re: Breaking Gear

There are basically 2 schools of thought about B mode. The first has been well represented here and essentially says: don't ever use B unless you are going down a hill and feel that you need the...

Re: Would You Buy a Toyota Again?

Kaizen has become a buzzword, just like Six Sigma, TQM and other quality programs developed by business thinkers and business schools. Even ISO 9000 has become a joke. I went to school with a guy,...

Re: Lights in Steering Wheel Buttons

Steering wheel buttons are lit in the courtesy light fashion, they are not well lit or bright like dash lights, but they are lit so they don't just disappear in a dark cabin. All of the wheel...

Re: '04-'06 Prius recall

This is SSC 60C. It is not technically a recall, but a special service campaign. It has to do with a steering yoke assembly which does not meet Toyota's standards of performance after real world...
