Oil Change Reminder

My 2007 FEH used to remind me to change oil every 10000 miles. More than a year ago I started carpooling and only use the hybrid on weekends or for long trips. My last oil change was in May 2014 and...

Re: Ford recalling 2005-2008 FEH for MECS Pump

I was able to see the pump with a mirror. It's the new one. I called the dealer and gave them my invoice number. I was told they would issue the refund in two days and I wouldn't have to bring my car...

Re: Ford recalling 2005-2008 FEH for MECS Pump

My MECS pump was replaced in November 2013. I was driving to Redwood National Park but had to return home half way.

The part number on my repair invoice is 5M6Z-8C419-A. Do the old part and the...

Re: Anyone having problems with Continental Tires?

The tread patterns are the same. I have 1200 miles on the new tire now. The vehicle doesn't pull to either the left or right.

Re: Anyone having problems with Continental Tires?

Last Thursday I had a flat tire. It wasn't repairable because the hole was too big. I only have 8k miles on my 2007 FEH, but this is the second tire I had to replace. Last time (at 2k miles) it was a...

Re: Outdoor temperature - wireless?

I placed the Wayfinder sensor side by side with a lab thermometer for two hours. The Wayfinder sensor is very accurate. In my backyard I also have an accurate outdoor sensor placed in a ventilated...

Re: Outdoor temperature - wireless?

The AcuRite is probably even cheaper at WalMart. I considered it last year but decided against it after reading some reviews about its durability.

I bought the Wayfinder V2020, but I don't...

Re: How NOT to do the Cabin Air filter

You should go back to read my post in this thread dated 9-29-2006. No, they don't have the right one.

Re: Backup cameras for FEH

This is the VR3 Wireless Backup Camera. I saw it in Costco yesterday. The price is $90. Found one review on Amazon and it isn't that great.

Re: How NOT to do the Cabin Air filter

There is a screen on my 2007 FEH, and after installing the filter I don't feel much difference in air flow.

Re: How NOT to do the Cabin Air filter

Actually it is a convex pentagon. :) I didn't know that till I opened it.

Re: How NOT to do the Cabin Air filter

Good point. I guess they don't know what a rectangle is, either, because I told them it was not rectangular.

Anyway, I cut the FP49 and put it in. It is not long enough, and the wide end is not...

Re: How NOT to do the Cabin Air filter

Today I received the replacement - a MotorCraft FP49 which is rectangular.

I told them clearly the opening was a trapezoid. It is unbelievable. :(

Re: MMH Mud Flaps (Splash Guards)

I got it. I was jacking the right arm but at the wrong spot. It should be the protuberance near the tire sidewall. It is lower than the more visible "joint" under the rear door.

The illustrations...

Re: MMH Mud Flaps (Splash Guards)

Yes, I did. I know it is dangerous to put the jack at the wrong place. I saw the body being lifted, but the tire didn't leave the ground.

Thanks for all the tips in this thread. I bought the Husky liners for the front, back, and cargo area from autoanything.com. The 2006 liners do fit the 2007 FEH. The only problem was that the...

Re: Homelink rearview mirror

I think it is safe. The fuse holder has two slots. One is for the original fuse from the fuse panel. It also comes with a few fuses of different Amp values. You have to use one of them in the second...

Re: Homelink rearview mirror

Since your mirror manual clearly indicates what the wires are for, I don't think the instructions on DIYNetwork about disengaging the auto-dimming apply here. Sorry to confuse you with that link.
