We bought a 2016 ES 300H the end of January and now have over 2,000 miles of city and highway driving. We love it! Thanks Alan, you're recommendation pushed us over the top on making the decision....

That happened to me once when I ran out of gas. Maybe the there is sensor related to fuel flow that is failing and telling the computer that the car is out of gas.

I don't know if this will help, buy my 2007 with 100K miles had been stuttering (but not shutting down) during the transition from EV to gas. I changed the spark plugs and it is back to normal.
