Re: Need help 07 Ima and battery light

Steve how do you physically find the bad 'stick' if you know one is bad based on the orange connector.

For example, if B13-B4 is bad, is there a diagram to identify? do those sense wires have the...

Re: No 2016 Accord Hybrid, 2017 new Powertrain??

When they say 'debut in early 2016', does that mean it will be announced / displayed at an auto show, but won't be available until Fall ? I would think a 2017 model won't be for sale until at least...

Re: 2008 HCH MPG problems?

On hills/inclines, the goal would be to gain as much speed as possible -before- you get to the incline (especially if you know one is approaching). This will let you increase speed without having to...

Re: 2008 HCH MPG problems?

You said you are in East of San Fran. Does this have a lot of hills everywhere?

If its like California with a lot of hills, I would guess this would be bad on mileage. The down-hills DO NOT...

Re: 06 Civic Hybrid shuts down while driving

There are 2 temp sensors. One at bottom of radiator, and the other at the top by thermostat

When I started getting the temp sensor engine codes, I replaced a corroded connector but codes still...

Re: New Owner - 2015 Accord Hybrid - questions

I don't have an HAH, but I've seen this talked about, and this is NORMAL.

The only time you will get full is going down steep hills where there is an excess of regen. And possibly if you drive in...

Re: transmission fluid change

If its like the 2006, its easier than an oil change. You remove the dipstick, you remove one bolt that uses a square socket, and 3 quarts will drain. You then restore the bolt and add 3 quarts in...

Re: 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid Mileage at 40mpg

If you drive past 60MPH, your mileage will drop off FAST, this is because Honda has optimized the HAH electric motor more for city driving. So eventually the electric motor is revving too high.

Re: I need help getting better MPGs.

You can almost rule the battery out with that low of mileage. Even with no battery at all, you should get 40MPG highway and about 30 City.

Check your tire pressure. Should be at least 38PSI per...

Re: Recal question on 4 mile hill.

There is no harm in partially charging. 8 hours may actually be enough -IF- you first top off the battery (either while driving it or Rev to 3000 in park to get charging going, and then run it...

2016 Malibu Hybrid, based on Volt technology

All, what is your opinion on the new 2016 Malibu Hybrid that will be out this spring.

The specs seem really good, two mode hybrid based on the Volt, with smaller 1.5KWhr battery.

48MPG City,...

Re: Recal question on 4 mile hill.

Yes, since I do this so infrequently, I just remove the entire battery pack (60 lbs or so) and carry it to a place with my charger and discharge lamps.

Honestly, I think people started hooking up...

Re: Recal question on 4 mile hill.

I get down to 2 bars maybe once every 3-4 weeks, sometimes when I do a second or third acceleration, but I NEVER lose power when trying to get on the highway or pass someone. Those days are long...

Re: Recal question on 4 mile hill.

In my experience with 2 batteries, the grid charging (top off) does not fix the recals. To fix the re-cals you ALSO need to discharge down to 99 volts (which is actually 0% capacity), then top it...

Re: Recal question on 4 mile hill.

I'm not sure if those are the bad re-cals. Normally a bad recal will go from 4 or 5 bars down to 2 instantly (during an acceleration) because there are cells that drop off really fast under load.

Re: Support for Android on HondaLink

Honda will not update old cars with new features. They want to sell new cars so unfortunately they will not go out of their way to make old cars more appealing.

The Android Auto stuff looks...

Re: HAH 2014/15 battery warranty

Dealer told me 3yr/36k, which I knew was wrong - thats for the regular 12V battery.

I found out online that its 8YR/100K in my state.

HAH 2014/15 battery warranty

Does anyone know the battery warranty time/miles for the 2014/15 Accord hybrids?

The Honda web site says "Battery-pack limited warranty may vary"

I am in Ohio

Re: 2015 Accord Hybrid - Cruise Control & Engine Stutter

Have any any of you 2014/15 HAH owners gotten any software (PCM) updates?? I wonder if they have updates that address these issues.

Yes we need to find out the following:

if the large battery either gets depleted fully, OR the battery goes bad when you are out somewhere, can the 12V battery save us by providing enough juice...

Re: Purchase advice 2006 with just 30k miles

If it looks clean and price is right, I would go for it. You may want to get the latest PCM software for the battery (from dealer). Batteries are hit/miss, but a top off to balance cells and full...

Re: How does the elec flywheel get power if spinning?

You mean the electric AC motor? I believe its an AC induction type motor - has a fixed stator that produces a magnetic field that makes the rotor spin. So magnetism allows it to spin freely. It...

No 2016 Accord Hybrid, 2017 new Powertrain??

According to this article that is announcing the 2016 Accord (non-hybrid), it sounds like there will be no 2016 HAH's. I also read they are moving production back to Japan for 2017 model year, with...

Re: Jump Start, questioning manual

I find it very hard to believe that there is not a backup starter (without a factory installed way to plug in the large battery for trickle charge - recovery scheme). So if this is true, unlike 99%...
