Re: The scoop on the new 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid

Glad to hear you like the car. Ive got an '07 Camry right now with about 150,000 on the clock and Im looking to trade it in on an Accord Hybrid when it hit 200,000.
About a week ago, I checked on...

Re: BMW i3 officially gets EPA-rated 81-mile range, delivered to first US customer

Im not really a big BMW fan, to me they all look the same but Id seriously consider that i3. From everything Ive read, heard and seen if it, that thing looks like a great little car.

Re: The scoop on the new 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid

Glad to hear youre getting your car in a timely manner. They can be hard to come by. Personally, Id take an Accord hybrid all day over a Camry hybrid (and I drive a Camry right now), simply because...

Re: Why GM should continue making hybrid SUV

The only problem is that I dont think your core Tahoe/Yukon and Escalade driver is interested in a hybrid. If youre going to buy a vehicle that is the size of a small apartment, do you really care...

Re: Front & rear sway bar bushings?

Yup, they used different sizes (depends what size sway bar you have), so you have to know what size your car has. Typically, there is a number on the bushing that tells you what size it is.
As for...

Re: Tire replacement

Im a big fan of Bridgestones and especially the Bridgestone Turanza, which is their high-end luxury/touring tire. Theyre smooth and quiet, a bit pricey though. Another good option is the Ecopia. ...

Re: 2014 Honda Accord PHEV Not Ready for Prime Time

I think you simply had unrealistic expectations. You cant expect a 1st year model to be flawless. Every car has problems in its 1st year. The new models of the Camry, Focus and Escape all had lots...

Re: 2014 Honda Accord PHEV Not Ready for Prime Time

I havent heard of any of these problems with the Accord Hybrid. Thus far, everything Ive read or heard about it has been nothing but glowing reviews.
Im not an expert on the differences between the...

Re: Camry suddenly loosing oil

If its like my '07 non-hybrid Camry, its on the left side (passenger side) of the engine and has a big, loop handle on it. Mine has an orange handle on it, so your's will probably be the same.

Re: Camry suddenly loosing oil

Oh, Ive done my research. Ive forgotten more about Toyotas than most people will ever know. The sludge issues that you refer to were on COROLLAS and in most cases it could be traced back to a lack...

Re: Toyota NA CEO says his excitement for hydrogen sedan is rising

Thats cool but wheres the hydrogen infrastructure thats going to support it? Last I knew, hydrogen was far too expensive and there werent enough places to fill it up.

Re: Camry suddenly loosing oil

The issue you are referring to was on Corollas, not Camrys.
To the OP, the mechanic is probably quoting you to just replace the engine, which is something I personally wouldnt do on a car with...

Re: maintenance Question

Changing oil, brakes, etc just about any place should be able to do. Id agree though that if you ever have any issues with the hybrid system, you'll probably have to break open the piggy bank and...

Re: CVT Transmission

Sounds like a typical CVT to me. Theres technically not, "gears" like a traditional transmission has, so theres really no downshifting.

Re: Looking for an 08 or newer Escape 4WD - have questions.

The difference from the Escape to the Mariner are mostly cosmetic. The Mariner is a bit more upscale but nothing major. Its more what your personal taste is.
I would caution you about the...

Re: 2006 Civic Hybrid MPG

Another thing to look at could be brakes. If you have rusted rotors or have brakes that are hanging up a bit, it can cause a lot more drag and a loss in MPG.
It is POSSIBLE that the battery pack is...
