Re: 2003 auto stop question

Mine does all kinds of stupid stuff like this. I never use defrost anymore because it turns off the auto-stop. They have thought about this stuff WAY too much and over-controlled too many things.

What about non-hybrid cars in the database?

Seems as though it would be good to compare real mileage of both hybrid and traditional power plants so that we could actually see the impact of hybrid technology on the auto market as a whole.

I...

Re: Thinking about trading HCH in for an 09 Fit

What makes you say the fit is a downgrade? On paper it is similarly equipped, though the fit is sportier and it has all that re-configurable space. The civic has now overgrown its roots, it's a big...

Re: Thinking about trading HCH in for an 09 Fit

I did test drive an 08 fit Auto and hated the transmission, it was noisy and choppy. I really like the CVT in my HCH, but I was a die-hard manual driver before that, it's the first automatic I ever...

Re: New Accessory: Trunk Hooks!!!

That seems a little cheesy to me. I use a collapsible tote basket.

Thinking about trading HCH in for an 09 Fit

So, the three main problems I had with the original fit have all been fixed in the 09 model. There's now a telescoping wheel, a driver armrest, and most importantly, instantaneous and average Fuel...

Re: My HCH experience with 5W20 instead of 0W20

At $4 vs $5 a quart on five quarts, we're talking about all this to save five bucks? Or even ten bucks for synthetic? Did I miss something?

I certainly get annoyed when the dealer tries to charge...

Re: HELP! Won't start

Got the radio code working. Again, what a stupid useless PITA. Who steals factory stereos anyway? WTF?

Re: HELP! Won't start

Too much hassle, haven't done it yet. Just went out of town for a few days too. Maybe tomorrow.

Re: IMA Battery Needs Replaced

Ok, so now I'm on my third tank in a row around the 37 mpg mark. A year ago I couldn't do lower than 42, after the new tires, 40, now it seems to be suffering even more. Is this a typical indicator...

Re: HELP! Won't start

Ok, I'll keep that in mind. One other bother as a result of this: My radio doesn't work anymore since the battery got disconnected, it's looking for a code of some sort. Is this another one of...

Re: HELP! Won't start

Well it's not a total relief yet. I am not convinced I understand to what extent the two electrical systems work together (or not), so until it seems like everything else is normal I won't be sure...

Re: HELP! Won't start

Yes, well I was used to cold killing my batteries in Minnesota... I guess I just moved to the other extreme.

I took it in for testing and it failed the load test miserably. So I got a new...

Re: HELP! Won't start

Well, I'll jump start it tomorrow and see what that does. It's possible a door was ajar and ran the battery down. It is four years old though so it may be ready to go.

HELP! Won't start

My 2004 HCH CVT is not starting. I turn the key and it lights up the whole desplay without doing anything else, then after a few seconds a fast clicking comes from behind the dash and the instrument...

Re: IMA Battery Needs Replaced

Great news, I am glad they're making good on that. Something you said sparked a curiosity for me though...

Is FE deterioration a common precursor to the battery problem? I have been experiencing...

Re: Noise (Fan?) after Turning Car Off - 2003 HCH

The fan running after you shut off the car is completely normal. Mine does it all the time (desert heat probably makes mine run more than yours). Every small car I've owned has done that, since my...

Re: My tire choice--Michelin Destiny (Harmony)

I was very tempted to buy these except for the reports that they suck in the snow. We don't get a lot but enough to consider it important.

Re: My tire choice--Michelin Destiny (Harmony)

I;m really disappointed now. After about 20k miles on the michelin's I am getting much worse mileage than I used to. Perhaps something else has changed (can't think of what it might be) but I have...
