Re: Accord Aero Enhancements On Reg. Accord

Hybrid also has a lightweight aluminum hood that the other Accords don't. Not sure you'll have any luck finding anyone here, as we're mostly hybrid owners. One idea is to find a totaled Accord...

Re: Plug in HAH

I don't know if that's correct or incorrect, but I'm positive that the break even point also depends on the local cost of electricity. Some places in the USA pay 3 times as much for electricity than...

Re: Plug in HAH

Does anyone know if it makes economic sense to plug in a hybrid, when/if it can be done? In other words, what's the breakeven point for a kW-hr of electricity and a gallon of gas to have electricity...

Re: 2007 Honda Accord Pricing

I looked on hondanews.com today (honda "press" website), and 2007 Accord Hybrid pricing is there. $33090 w/navi, and $31090 without. Plus destination of $595. EPA mpg is listed as 28/35.

Re: No All-Weather Mats for the HAH?

I have the Honda Accord rubber mats (Honda accessory, just to clarify). They fit just fine, both sides as well as rear. I didn't even realize there was a difference (and am not convinced there is -...

Re: CNET says EX V6 had BETTER MPG than HCH!!! True??

Ummm....CNET isn't where I would go to find comprehensive and meaningful car reviews. Computer and accessories, maybe.

With equivalent driving, the Hybrid Accord will get you a FEW extra mpg. It...

Re: 2007 Honda Accord Pricing

As far as pricing not being available at the same time as the standard Accord, remember that the HAH comes from Japan, so that can build in some differences in availability and release of pricing.

Re: Will you still own the HAH in 7-10 years?

The Accord hybrid has no alternator. Therefore, all power to run electrical accessories (and that includes power steering on these cars, lights, and the ignition system) comes from the batteries. I...

Re: 06 HAH Software Update Just Completed ...

It's interesting and good news (in addition to your mpg) that there IS a 2007 Accord hybrid in the brochure. Earlier rumors were that Honda was dropping the Accord hybrid due to slow sales.

Re: Parallel parking on a steep hill

No ECON button like the HCH had. However, you can put the transmission in 2nd gear and that disables autostop. (Also doesn't autostop in reverse). So if you do happen to have trouble with autostop...

Re: Do magnets REALLY help fuel economy

Why do people that believe this stuff think the manufacturers have not put magnets, etc. on the cars they make? They will spend thousands for a few more mpg (like a hybrid drivetrain), but won't put...

Re: Streamers can be choosers

Drafting can mean mpg improvements, but I've never understood the logic. For a few dollars saved per year, there's a BIG risk of a broken windshield, chips, and dents. (Trucks throw lots of rocks...

Re: Park and auto stop

It's still not a perfect solution, but you can put the transmission into 2nd gear, and the engine won't auto-stop. I do this all the time when I come to a stop sign where there's no traffic, or when...

Re: transmission vibration? Assist maximization?

My guess is that the high-tech engine mounts that are supposed to help dampen vibration in the 3 cylinder mode aren't working as well as we would like them to work. (That doesn't mean that are...

Re: Trip Computer lifetime mpg resets itself?

Mine was up to 1.9 mpg today, and I gave up on it fixing itself, and reset it. It immediately started acting properly, and over the ~15 miles to home, it ended up at an average 39 mpg. So it's...

Re: Trip Computer lifetime mpg resets itself?

Yes, the real odometer is correct and was not affected. Trip A was also not affected. Interestingly Trip B, as displayed on the dash, also did not reset. It currently reads 883.7. The odometer reads...

Trip Computer lifetime mpg resets itself?

Since my car was new, I was keeping track of tank mileage on trip odometer A, and lifetime mileage on odometer B. In other words, I never reset B. At over 11,000 miles, it was at 34.4 mpg. I...

Re: Has anyone heard anything about availability or shipping of the 2006 HAH?

So is the 2006 EPA mileage really lower than the 2005 model? If so, has anyone asked their dealer for an explanation of what happened or changed?

Re: 2006 Honda Accord Hybrid information now on Honda website

I looked up the mpg difference in the Civic ULEV vs. PZEV. The drop was only one mpg city, with either transmission. Manual trans highway mpg was the same. CVT was 1 mpg HIGHER with the PZEV on...

Re: 2006 Honda Accord Hybrid information now on Honda website

When the PZEV Civic Hybrid came out, the PZEV was available in CA (and maybe other places?) and the ULEV was still the only model elsewhere. The PZEV had slightly lower EPA mpg figures.

I'm...

Re: Back in Black...er...Magnetic Pearl

Nice detailed writeup. I formerly had an 03 HCH and now have the Accord. One difference I noted was that the Civic mpg gauge was always optimistic by about 10%. Others seem to report errors of...

06 vs. 05 Information

The 06 seems to be delayed for an unknown period, for a reason that hasn't been reported. However, I have access to a Honda parts database that currently lists 2006 HAH parts along with 2005, as well...

Re: Automatic Mirror Problems

I just checked mine. The driver's sunvisor will brush against the mirror as it passes it. The padding on the visor is all that lets it go by. Usually, I don't put the visor all the way to the...

Re: I really want to love my HAH . . . .

I've seen the shifting lag also, and agree it's annoying. I see it most often when doing a "rolling stop" through an unposted intersection, or those types of situations, rather than in normal...

Re: 3cycl mode

In my car, I can feel something kicking in and out separate from the ECO light, with the ECO light still on. It feels pretty much like a transmission shift, but isn't, because the tachometer is...
