Re: Why my tire pressure ALWAYS GO LOW?

jimmy1, there are very few places a tire can lose air.

1) A puncture in the tire itself
2) A bad seal of the tire to the rim due to corrosion, flaking plating, cut bead on the tire, etc.
3)...

Re: 12v battery needed

Try Toyota for a factory battery or read one of the multitude of threads on the right Optima battery to use as a replacement. I opted to use the factory replacement, bought it online and had it...

Re: Why my tire pressure ALWAYS GO LOW?

OK guys, settle it down a bit. I can understand the frustration about a TPMS sensor but then again, you don't have to answer either. I have a hard enough time explaining why a moderator for this site...

Re: 2007 - TCH burning oil + codes

Your O2 sensors probably need to be replaced. They do play a part in the fuel trim of the engine and are not that difficult or expensive to replace. If you plan on keeping the car, I would suggest...

Re: 2009 TCH ICE/EV Transition Issues?

ukrkoz, it should revert to normal operation after shutting the car down and doing a restart.

Marik, what is the temp at your location when you are driving? Still cold there (30-40) or warm (80+)?

Re: 2009 TCH ICE/EV Transition Issues?

Marik, until the engine and (more importantly) the catalytic converter get up to temp, the engine will not shutoff. At that point, it takes a 6 to 10 second stop in gear for the engine to shutdown....

Re: WTF P1420 keeps happening

Did he test the evap purge solenoid with a meter to make sure it was working correctly? Just make sure he did that BEFORE putting the smoke machine to it. It the solenoid is not working correctly, it...

Re: WTF P1420 keeps happening

Are you sure it's the canister? That will require the gas tank to be removed. The purge solenoid is under the hood near the throttle body. Did your mechanic hook it to a smoke machine to find the...

Re: About to buy tires (2009 TCH)

I can't say anything about your choices as I always run Michelin tires on everything I own (well, the Kenworth has Bridgestone Ecopia's on it but that is not exactly my daily driver). I will let you...

Re: WTF P1420 keeps happening

If your gas cap is tight, your most likely issue is the EVAP purge solenoid. After that, you need to have someone with a smoke machine test it to find the leak. The solenoid is an easy fix, the smoke...

Re: ICE starting too soon on acceleration

Their are 4 stages to your hybrid operation. The only time it will start out in EV mode is with a VERY gentle acceleration and the hybrid system needs to be in stage 4 operation. On first startup,...

Re: Transmission/PSD at 120k miles

LOL, I think he was referring to the "Transmission definitely came back to life after putting in new fluid" part of your post. You should not have been able to tell any difference at all in the way...

Re: Got a used 2009 Camry XLE Hybrid, some questions

LOL, Ukrkoz, if you have Yoko's on your car, you would be standing by them, more than likely, they're flat.

Re: 2007/2009 cluster

If it lights up but doesn't have a display, it could be a loose or corroded connection, bad display or several other things that can go wrong. Try looking for the obvious items first and if those...

Re: Anyone have an issue with the door panel where your elbow rests?

Ask around the trim shops in your area and find out who does the trim repairs on used cars for the dealers. They should have a dye that will match your Toyota and be able to re-dye that piece.

Re: New hybrid owner, looking to decode options

The only way I know to get what you want is from a dealer and even then, I have never heard of anyone trying to recreate a build sheet.

Re: DIY Walk-Through: Water Pump and motor replacement on a '07 Camry Hybrid

Re: Triangle shape red warning light is what?

You should inspect the brakes and lubricate the slide areas to prevent them from sticking. This should be done at least once a year. Yours stuck due to rust and caused an early brake failure due to...

Re: When to replace shocks/struts?

Typically, clean the strut and then watch for an oil leak down the side of the strut. If they are real bad, you can "bounce" one end of the car by hand. If it comes back up and stops, you will need...

Re: Triangle shape red warning light is what?

It means just what he said. The two are NOT associated. One is for maintenance (oil change indicated etc). The brakes are a different issue altogether. They just happened at the same time. I am...

Re: Shimming new headlight assembly

Re: When to replace shocks/struts?

LOL, most of us replaced them around the 100K to 120K mark at the latest. Some repleced them after just 50K.

Re: Trunk latch switch all gooey!

As far as a recall goes, how long do you think the company should be responsible for minor wear parts on a car? I replaced mine at the 7 year mark. When I stated driving a long time ago, the entire...
