Re: The First Plug-in Camry Hybrid Conversion

I enjoy some of these older post. In 2013 a conversion like this may have cost $4000 to $5000 which some did.

The only problem I see even if the extra battery was trouble free is the added...

Re: Spark Knock, Acceleration or Transmission noise between 20-35MPH

Today a certified TCH tech put extra nitrogen in my tires for the winter. I ask him about pinging on over 200K hybrid engines. He said it the engine was well maintained it could be piston slap due...

Re: Considering a new TCH or Hyundai Sonata Hybrid

Very simple to me, the Prius came out in 1995 and '96 was test driven and later sold in Japan only.

In 2000 the Prius was also sold in America which it's sales really took off. Toyota has a great...

Re: Spark Knock, Acceleration or Transmission noise between 20-35MPH

You did the right thing using 10 tanks of Shell gas. Usually about 3 tanks will clear up any bad gas problems.

I think it's called a throttle body. I remember cleaning the intake on my gas only...

Re: Spark Knock, Acceleration or Transmission noise between 20-35MPH

May I ask what brand of gas do you use in the Prius and your Altima.

It sounds like your trying to doctor the real cause by using the colder spark plugs. I did the same think in a old Chevy 6-cyl...

Re: over 200,000 miles on 2007, shoud we get a new car

You might want to hang on to find out more about the 2015 to see what's new about it, maybe better design, improve traction battery, higher gas mileage and more power would be my wishful guess.

Re: How to add SOC to Scangauge II???

I didn't have this information here when I drove my '07 TCH. I did add some guage's to my SCII after buying my '12 TCH.

I like the SOC and use it frequently as I do drive slow enough that I can...

Re: Moving on from 2007 Camry Hybrid

I'm glad your enjoying your Fusion Hybrid. Your 49.1 mpg sure beats out my 2007 TCH at 47 mpg highway when i'm driving at 60 using the cruise with the AC on a summer trip. I traded up to a '12 TCH...

Re: Check VSC System

If it were me I would call your dealers service department and ask who did your brake job. The name may be on your receipt. Then call back and ask for the operator or shop foreman if this man is a...

Re: Costco's Kirkland Signature Gas is now in the Top-Tier list

What bothers me most is all these EPA level of additives selling their gas for the same price or higher then a good top tier brand of gas.

People are unaware of the extra additives in the...

Re: Tire replacement

Thanks for the update details on the tires. It may be a good while for me needed to buy new tires due to driving to town and back about 4 times a week.

Re: Costco's Kirkland Signature Gas is now in the Top-Tier list

That sounds good to me. Wish we had a Costco station like the one in El Paso that was less than 80 miles from where we live.

I don't see why Costco would need to put in any expensive additives...

Costco's Kirkland Signature Gas is now in the Top-Tier list

Costco has been added to the top tier list.

When the site opens, play the video then click the link, 'Retailers' for the latest list of top-tier brands of gas to buy from to keep your engine and...

Re: Tire replacement

Not bad if you can get 30K miles out of a set of OEM tires. I will stick with the Primacy MXV4's but will go with the H-series 11/32" tread this time to see how much longer they will last.

I...

Re: P0A80-- Replace Hybrid Battery Pack

I think the traction battery sits idle when parked for a long period. It's the 12-volt battery that has a slight drain from the ECU when it's in it's sleep-mode.

I have driven my TCH home in EV...

Re: Tire replacement

I'm sure they are some other top selling tires like you mention that are equally good tires. I had some trouble with hydroplaning with a early set of Michelins on a Chevy Cavalier. They were...

Re: Tire replacement

I have used Michelin's from 1977 to present. I like the last set of Michelin Primacy MXV4's I bought when my '12 TCH XLE was new. They ride smooth and are quiet. I would recommend the H-series set...

Re: P0A80-- Replace Hybrid Battery Pack

This sounds like a weak 'cell pack' in the traction battery. The dealer should be able to find this type problem as your seeing it happen on the graph and the way the car then performs. This seems...

Re: Camry suddenly loosing oil

If the oil level gets really low you might see the Oil light flash like when turning a corner. That would mean the oil is so low that the oil pump is having trouble picking up the oil which would...

Re: Moving on from 2007 Camry Hybrid

The cost of charging a PHEV can cost around $500 or more each year. I would also worry big time about the huge high amp battery used in these mostly EV cars.

I get great mpg from my '12 TCH XLE...

Re: 2010 Camry Hybrid MPG Average display

My method is to fill the tank with the gas nozzle set to low and pushed up to the fill neck till it auto shuts off once, then I replace the nozzle on the pump. This allows the tanks venting system to...

Re: Transmission coolant leak

Sounds like it was very slowly leaking when the case was at operating temperature. The serviceman's pressure test evidently didn't show the problem due to the case being cool.

Could be your taking about the Yokohama YK580 tire. This must be a very new tire as tire rack and consumer reports has no information on this tire as yet.

I was curious if you had your michelins...
