Re: Battery crash / no regen braking??

Yeah, I'll mention it again the next time I bring it in for an oil change. I just had the forward accessories plug go out on me too. The one in the center console still works.

Re: Los Angeles to Phoenix HCHII Run

Wow, nicely done. On our trip to Palm Springs from Phoenix we averaged 43 - 45 MPG. Lots of winds if I remember and very hill. Plus I don't think we were going 55. :)

Re: Battery crash / no regen braking??

I finally found a post I can use. I was wondering if this is normal.

This happens to me every single day during the summer. I get into my car at about 5 PM and within 2 minutes I have zero...

Re: Info on the '09 Escape Hybrid

I'm trying to find out if the newer versions will have an A/C which runs off the electric motor during auto stop, like the Civic and Prius?

Re: Is this crazy?!

I wonder if the dealer is going to bother mentioning that little fact. Especially since I've heard the '08 gets a higher tax credit than the previous models (anybody else able to confirm that?).

Re: Dash computer indicated average MPG

I don't use that to calculate my MPG. The math is always more accuate. Although mtberman does have a point that to be "accuate" you would have to always fill up to exactly the same level in the tank.

Re: Any Word on Early '09 Vehicles?

Wait until they introduce the '09 to see if there are any changes and then buy the '08 because it will be heavily discounted (maybe given gas prices). However, you won't get the selection you'll get...

Re: New Member New Ford 2008 2wd Escape - California

We looked at the 2008 and thought it was nice. However, we read that there were only cosmetic changes so we opted to save the $3K and got the 2007. We love our and wonder why Ford can't build all...

Re: CVT - Mountain driving

I agee exactly and this is what I try to do. Other than raising the PSI on the tires though. We go up to the White Mountains in Arizona every couple of weeks. The RPMs go way up but who cares.

Re: Trying to decide on a hybrid SUV...

I feel our 2007 FEH is a little underpowered (my last car was a 260 hp Acura). But that is because we travel up the mountain every couple of weeks. However, I would not trade it in for anything. It...

Re: Does anyone use their climate control?

There is. The AC button will manually cycle the compressor on or off.

I never turn it off. I keep it at 74 in the winter and 76 in the summer. In the winter, I make sure the compressor is off.

Re: Nice to meet you!

Welcome Pmagnavox!

We just got a 2007 FEH to replace our Non Escape Hybrid and we love it (we have HCH also). It is a great vehicle and fun to drive especially in Electric Mode. The best part is...

Re: XM changes for 2007 model?

Forget about it for the '06. It did not come with the XM unit installed (they figured out how to ship the XM units to Japan before the car is built when they switched over to the '07s). That's why...

Re: How can I get direct 12v from my Civic?

There might be something wrong with your inverter, like a short. I plug my laptop into my inverter in our 2005 HCH all the time and it works perfectly. If you're plugging it in with nothing and it's...

Re: Question for techies & old-timers

A gallon of gasoline weights about 6 pounds. I would suspect the weight might be that sensitive. Also, how do you actually know? Is your driving exactly the same for the whole tank, weather...

Re: 2007 FEH AWD--1st tank mpg lowish?

Wow, we are doing well then. Our first tank is averaging 36 MPG according to the display. It's really fun driving it in the city where we can go totally on electric between red lights. I am not sure...

Re: Recent Dip in MPG - Why??

I noticed the same thing with mine. All of a sudden I got a 20% reduction in one tank. I am not sure what to think but I am waiting for a few more tanks before I get worried.

Re: Auto Day/Night Mirror and Compass Attachment

I had one installed in my '06 when I purchased it. I love it and it was worth the $400 for the part and installation.

Re: Auto door unlock

Wow, I wonder if you can get a software patch/upgrade for the '06. It drives me nuts that it only unlocks my door.

Re: Regeneration not happening when car is cold

It's not the regen system, it's the batteries. They like the same environmental conditions that we do. When they are at the right temp, they will start excepting a charge. No need to charge anything...

Re: 06 vs 07 Civic II?

The dealer on Camelback in Phoenix had three hybrids this week. It's a good time to buy an '06 given the end of model and temporarily low gas prices.

Re: 07 HCH Headrest uncomfortable

If the headrest is more than 2 inches from the back of your head, they are worthless. Get used to it and you'll fair much better if involved in a rear end collision.
