Re: Back up Camrea installation to the NAV unt (with pictures)

Thanks Crasher!
I spoke to my dealer one more time today and they said they will do the install for $975.
I asked them which camera they will use and the response was eclipse.
So I decided to buy the camera from ebay and get it fixed by some local technician in local car audio store.
I will also try circuitcity.
It will be interesting to see a photo after you have installed your keyhole camera.

I fabricated a bracket to install at same place as jagbagri. only difference is that I made the bracket in 'U' form that also had a hole, so it can be screwed along with the license plate. I used the cheap camera from fleabay, but used Monster 25' subwoofer cable;) . Every thing works fine.:D

It seems that most people are buying the Eclipse BEC 106 or 105. Has anyone used other makes? Looking for feed back on the sonicelectronic universal license plat frame back up camera model # VB21C-RV or BoyoVision VTL120 ($130. ebay Item 140155749277 or anyother license plate type. Thanks

Voodoo: Since some states do not allow the use of a license plate camera and the fact that both type cameras require the same intallation except for the mounting on the back of the car, I would pay the extra $15 to get the BEC 106. My wife's BEC 106 works great, no problems at all.

Thanks Dave, Not on issue of $ but the license plate style looks cleaner and nicer and the mounting seems easier. ???. Anyone else care to comment? Thanks All. Voodoo

Looks good. Can it be positioned directly center over the license plate. Was worried that the camera is stuck on with sticky tape but I now think it is held in a bracket ?

The bracket is held on by double sided tape.. So TCH - Tape - Bracket - Camera
