Re: Best replacement cabin air filter
I bought a couple Purolator C35667 from PepBoys for ~12 bucks a piece which is much less than the 27 that the dealer wanted. They looked really similar (if not identical) when I replaced them.

Re: Best replacement cabin air filter
I was quoted for $29 for the dealer's cabin air filter. I ended up buying a Wix for about $15 locally. I heard years ago that Purolator makes the Toyota oem filters to Toyota's specs. I would love to buy Purolator but it's 80 miles to our nearest PepBoys in El Paso.

best? how does one measure indoor air quality.
to me best is cheapest |
Re: Best replacement cabin air filter
I also read on another forum that some guy uses AC air filters for his house. He simply cuts them to size which is even cheaper.

I get mine from Napa autoparts. They are about $8

Re: Best replacement cabin air filter
I like the build on the Fram FreshBreeze CF10139 (Green box) for my Camry 2007 Hybrid. The filter fits fine and Walmart has them on clearance for 13 dollars. This is not the cheap flimpsy filters. They are rock solid with charcoal activated feature as well as baking soda added in for that clean fresh smell. Found the cabin filters in the auto department in the clearance section.
Sorry have not posted in awhile. Nothing wrong with the Camry yet. Knock on wood. |
Re: Best replacement cabin air filter
Why post the same item in four separate threads, some well over a year old?
I like cabin air filters as much as the next guy, but this is one of the most unimportant parts of the car. One of your passengers can "let one fly" and all the filtration in the world won't protect you. Nor will it prevent the car from getting skunked. I buy the filters online for under ten bucks (looking for the cheapest) and don't think in terms of the rigidity nor quality. They all filter out some stuff, but it's not NASA nor clean room quality filtration where talking about here. The cheap ones online are pretty rigid, too |
Re: Best replacement cabin air filter
Hi Harold
I posted a few times because I figured someone might be looking for a cabin filter for a good value. I understand you may not feel that a camry might not need a higher end cabin filter. I respect your thoughts. However, for the folks that do want a better filter in terms of quality material and activated charcoal, I just wanted to let them know of a clearance I found. As for me, I prefer a better made cabin filter. I Ebay for my needs too. Thanks for your comments. Have a good day. |
