Can the Navigation System be updated for Traffic?

I have a 2008 TCH with built in navigation. My DH has a 2010 Prius. I got him a Garmin with live traffic for his birthday and I'm sick of hearing how wonderful it is compared to my nav...Anyone know if we can update our unit to have this feature??? Thanks

Well, I doubt it, without a serious transplant.

I just bought a 2009 Toyota Venza that has the "next generation" NAV, and it has traffic reports. I hear the 2010 TCHs have this also, but this is not confirmed. If you REALY wanted to, I bet you could buy the 2010 NAV system from the parts dept or on ebay, and install it in place of the factory installed NAV in with your 2008, but it would be very pricey.

Why not just get a Garmin? I use a Garmin 765T in my TCH as well as the factory NAV. They do provide different features. It is sometimes comical to hear them duel. Jack and Jill we call them.

i have the 2010 prius and have free traffic and sat.radio for 90 days but i also use my garmin 760.Early this yr garmin had a special with lifetime map updates for about $120.00 and lifetime traffic but cant remember the price for traffic but it wasnt much.im not real happy with the factory nav.cuz.while driving with no route i just see the street im on but not the streets ahead.I already know the street im on but would like to see the streets ahead so i leave the nav screen off and use the garmin.
