CD Changer Problem

I have a 2008 TCH. The 4 DISC Nav unit has worked until 3 weeks ago. Now, the unit does not load/eject any of the 4 music CDs, but the map discs fnctions fine. Does anyone have any experience in taking this unit apart or have suggestion on how to resolve this problem?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions given.

Re: CD Changer Problem

Try disconnecting the power from the unit for several seconds. This has worked for my son's CD unit.

I got one from a junk yard that didn't eject and it never worked, I returned it.

I did however find these guys from another thread and they seemed reputable so I kept the URL for later on down the road.

I am one of the people that used them with no problems. They do seem to have more of an old school customer service mentality. They don't proactively keep you up to date.

Re: CD Changer Problem

My TCH does not have navigation but I have had Numerous problems with the (now 2) CD/Radio Units I have gone through. My issues involved: CDs would eject with the press of Any button, CD related or not, and this would continue until all or almost all of the CDs had been ejected; the display would display an erroneous message or be blacked-out/display nothing; the volume would (on its own) go from say level 26 to 0, in random increments; etc... (fun huh?)

My fix for this was 1st - Video taping the symptoms when they occurred and then taking it to the dealer. As long as it is under warranty they should take care of it. (Without the video evidence it is VERY Hard to convince the service reps that the radio acted that way. Their response once they saw the video was simply put as, 'We have no idea why it's doing that.').

So if the car is still under a full-wrap warranty, there are some helpful tips.

Re: CD Changer Problem

I ought to delete that image stat .. the last tank I entered was over 1 year ago, and the data that that low mpg is based on is less then 10 tanks from when I first got the car.

My actual MPG now is about 33.5 mpg in the city and 36-38 mpg on the highway.

you scared me for a moment. 38+34=72/2=36. that's about right.
