LED turn signals

Has anyone installed LED turn signal bulbs front and rear?

My understanding is that the front one's are difficult to get to. The grille, bumper, and other things have to be removed in order to get to them. Not sure how to get to the rear one's.

The rear ones should be accessible via a rear plastic cover in the trunk.

The headlight units are glued shut so you would probably have to bake them in an oven and then pry them open. That's what you have to do if you want to do an HID retrofit (not a kit).

Jeez, can't they just use a screw? They sure do make things purposely difficult.

The lamp housing may be glued together, but the bulbs (including the turn-signal bulbs) unplug from the housing. The only difficulty is getting access to the turn- and side-marker bulbs — one has to remove the bumper to do so.

Re: LED turn signals

Unfortunately, to do an HID retrofit, the halogen projector has to be replaced with an HID projector and that requires cracking the housing open.

I haven't looked into LED turn signals that much because I'm not planning on changing mine but it seems that to match the brightness of regular bulbs, an array of LEDs must be used. That often entails circuit boards so it's not going to be a drop-in replacement for the existing bulb and cracking the headlight housing open may be necessary.

I guess I am missing something....why change them if they are working ok?
