Thanks for the Link ! :thumbs_up - I felt like I was watching/listening to the exact same debate I had at purchase time... I agree with the resulting analysis and the comment that the TCH gets very little media attention...:)

The video pretty well sums up why I got the TCH.

The comments below the posting were interesting. They still show how ignorant or misinformed the larger part of the populace is regarding hybrids. Some of the posts just seem outright stupid if you know anything at all about them.

I find it intriguing that the ones with the stongest opinions are also the ones that cannot spell and that use poor grammer. I still wonder why this specific technology advancement stirs such strong postings; ignorance, fear, resentment, envy, rationalization, guilt, or a combination of some or all of them. But it is definately there!

I hope it isn't an indication of the overall YouTube generation. I didn't get a sense that there were many (if any) over-thirty-somethings in the postings group.

Re: Toyota vs...Toyota? Camry Hybrid takes on the Prius

I bought the 2009 TCH with leather and NAV system a couple of months ago -- and love it so far. MPG averages for about 50/50 highway/city driving with AC are between 40 and 42 mpg (best was 42.5 average over a cool spell with the AC off).

I don't buy new cars often, but with my other vehicles (van at 330 kmiles, Jeep at 206k miles) getting older, I have been thinking about what should be next.

I have looked at the Prius, but just have to have a sunroof; the HCH; and even the Jetta TDI. But for the relatively small difference in price, and the reasons described in the video, I keep coming back to the TCH. But I suspect there is something dysfunctional about buying two of the same make and model cars.

So... I will stand by until something better than the TCH comes along -- perhaps a viable plug-in soon?

Regards, Ken S.

Hi Ken, have you considered adding your mileage to the mileage DB here?

All things aside, I think the Prius is a great car, especially if you do need a little more room for hauling things around in.

I read somewhere here (or on another site) that the 2010/2011 Prius will have a plug-in option.

If you need the utility of your van or jeep, you might even consider the Highlander.
