Water pumps and brakes
4 Attachment(s)
I made a sticky thread about a water pump replacement today (look at the top of this section) and also took the time to remove the brake pads and inspect them while rotating the tires.
After 115,000 miles, I could not believe the front brakes. I originally thought they would last 200,000 miles. I now think they will outlast the car. They show almost ZERO wear and should make it well past the 500,000 mile mark. http://i567.photobucket.com/albums/s...ter_Pump37.jpg Side view Attachment 2650 Pad view The rears showed a little more wear but should get around 250,000 to 300,000 before needing to be replaced. Just need to let the car down, road test and go inside and have a Corona.... |

Re: Water pumps and brakes
Been around this area since '69 when dad retired except for a sort stint in Knoxville. I feel at home as there are a lot of independent cusses living here......

Re: Water pumps and brakes
Thats great news to hear about the brakes!
My 2007 camry hybrid just reached 120,000 miles. I just changed the plugs earlier this week and serpentine belt. Good work GeorgiaHybrid! |
Re: Water pumps and brakes
I'm at 140k miles on my 2007 TCH. Every oil change now the advisor is telling me I'm down to 1mm on my rear brake pads. I took off the tire yesterday and examined the pads and they look to be about the same as the pics GeorgiaHybrid posted!! It's still at 4-5mm!! I dont konw what the service technician was looking at, but it sure wasn't my rear brakes!
