I traded in my 2008 Scion xB to get the TCH after the dealership put a huge dent in my car and after a month and trying to fix it 4 times they couldnt so I traded it in for the Hybrid.

I traded in my 2003 Toyota Highlander Limited with 14,000 miles for my 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid.
The Camry is a much better car with a better ride and performance than the Highlander was.

I traded my 2003 GMC Envoy XL on the 09 Black TCH in March 2008. I really liked the Envoy, but all around mpg was ~ 16. Based on the advertised mpg of the TCH I thought I could reduce my fuel consumption by half. With the exception of the colder months I’m averaging mid 39’s with semi normal driving. However, I ended up buying my brother’s old 95 4X4 hard body for the winter.

I traded in my 2006 Toyota 4-runner 8cyl for a 2007 TCH. Saved $150 a month in payments plus will be spending 1/3 of the fuel.

We traded in our RDX for a Black TCH used. I miss the turbo and performance but not the 17 mpg on prem gas. It was a hard decision because we really enjoyed the RDX but after a week with the TCH we love it.

traded in 2003 BMW X5. not a tough call as I was ready to drive something different. That being said if BMW can get a 3 or 5 series up into the 33/40 range I would go back.

Buying the 09 TCH, about 1 year ago, I sold my (4.9L, 200 HP, 4200 lb.) '92 Cadillac DeVille.

My first 12 years or so with the DeVille were absolutely trouble free, but for the last few I was definitely getting well into the expensive repairs on the "burn-out" end of the bathtub-shaped reliability curve.

Before doing the deal, I did a number of city mpg test runs on selected common trips in both cars. The TCH used consistently about half the fuel that the Caddy (EPA 16 city, 26 hwy, personal 30 hwy.) did.

A year with the TCH, absolutely confirmed my expectation of cutting my fuel use in half.

So, I figure that if I can get 10 or 12 trouble free years out of the TCH I will come out way ahead on cost.

Note: For quite a while, I considered the 92 DeVille a reasonably economical car. It had low repair/maintenance cost, and it used a fraction of the fuel that I used to use in my (5400 lb., 500 cubic in. (8.2L)) '75 Deville.

Those Caddy's sure were comfortable.

But my standards have changed. 16 mpg city is now unacceptable; 30 mpg hwy no longer seems good enough, and now a well equipped mid-sized car seems plenty comfortable enough.

We live and learn !

We didn't trade it in but sold our 05 Subaru Forrester. It sold very easily for $9K to the first looker but it was in really good clean shape with 65K miles, and had been garaged since it was new. This was my wifes car and never really impressed me much. I thought it was noisey and felt cramped to me - I'm 6ft 2in and 230 pounds so it didn't work for me but did fine for my wife.

It was nice to see the mileage go from 22 mpg in the Subaru to an average of 34mpg in the Camry - so far we are very happy!

Traded my 05 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi/auto. Had 59k miles on it and was under warranty but reliability was becoming questionable(transmission most probably in future).
Went from 15mpg to 37 mpg and am loving it.
