about the tire pressure indicator...

I bought my Prius with two sets of tires (it's second hand, but brand new). I want to put on the other set and I don't want to change the sensors from the stock set to the custom set, and so want to know; that when I don't install the sensors, wil there just be a light on and that's it or will it blink and be obnoxious and are there any remedies and or ideas?
p.s. the custom set are the cats _ss 17" with low profile tires.
Thanks in advance for quality replies.:shade:

I don't know the system. I'd probably start by getting the maintenance manual and/or looking for a fuse that handles just the monitoring system. Yes, a light is probably the worst case and as a temporary kludge, a workaround, you could use black electrical tape until the problem is fixed.

The light will come on. That's all that will happen. No buzzers, no blinking. If it bugs you use electrical tape over the indicator. ;) If you store the wheels with the sensors in the garage with the car, the light will go off and stay off for the first few minutes of driving, then come back on (as long as the stored wheels/tires have enough air in them).

I don't think there is a stored code either for the TPMS.
