Bike rack for Prius?Trunk rack?
I just got a 2006 Prius. Is there any sort of bikerack-a trunk rack type rack-that will fit on it? I know about the Coastal Hitch, I might got that route since I already have a hitch rack, but I would like something lighter? Help-thanks,Charlie

Yep, I have been eyeballing them for over a year. I was hot for the HH, but it just wasn't enough better than the Pilot. Then the Prius caught my eye-gas spiked,sold my truck, and that was it. Traded(well sold then bought) a truck for a small car. We are planning a long trip-3000 miles-in a couple of weeks-might take the Prius if I can figure a good way to fit the bike,a tall dog and a small kitten.Thanks,Charlie

Look into the Saris line of bike racks. They mount via straps and metal clips to most sedans and many vans and SUVs. I've used mine on my '92 Toyota Corolla and it fits well -- holds 2 bikes (there are other versions that hold 1 or 3).

The barebones Saris works great on the prius. I have a 2005 and have used the Saris to carry my bikes several thousand miles; it is very secure with 6 straps.

I have the saris bones and it is actually easier to use on my prius than it was to use on my civic. I got it on clearance at a local bike store.
