How long was your wait for your PRIUS?
 

Just thought we could start a poll about the average wait time for your prius. I was lucky. I waited 1 day.

I bought a demo in 2001 so did not wait. It was worth the loss of 600 miles on the odometer to get the car immediately. No regrets.

We went in one day for a test drive and drove one home the next day. We probably could have taken it home on the first day, but it was July 4 and we had other plans and couldn't wait at the dealership for a couple of hours.

Test drove and bought on same day. :) Last and only one at the dealership. Bought just before Katrina hit.

My dealer called me and told me he had a 05 Prius available and told me what he would give me for my 03 Prius on trade. Went in on Wednesday night two weeks ago and was driving away with it in less than two hours.

I was working multiple dealers over a 2 month period. I had made no commitment to any of them over that period, just stringing the dealers along, talking to them on a weekly basis, seeing how much information I could get out of them about specific dates, allocation numbers, package/color availability etc. The dealers that were reasonably open with me were the ones that got most of my attention.

However, one dealer impressed me and as such I, in earnest, got him to acquire my specific package and color choice through and allocation trade. He never asked for a deposit, and because the car was earmarked for his dealership upon arrival in the U.S. the wait was very short. I think it was about 2.5 weeks from first contacting the dealer until delivery. Considering that last December the wait was still supposed to be about 3 months.

I always advocate visiting multiple dealers and working multiple angles on any vehicle purchase. If you do, you usually can get a good deal or a short delivery time.

Haven't got it yet but I placed the order in beginning of Oct. and can expect delivery in mid. Feb!!! That's 4,5months... That's the demand for Prius in Sweden at this time...

Well I really hope it's worth the wait...
