Saw an '08 in the wild
Ok, it was still at home...
I went by the dealer today, and there were five '08 Escape Hybrids on the lot. They were obviously not prepped, and had just arrived yesterday, but I wasn't aware that any were out yet.
Three of them were marked as being fleet vehicles. The other two didn't have such markings.
The one I looked at was 4wd, and had EPA ratings of 29 city, 27 fwy.
I liked it, but thought it looked smaller than I expected, and smaller than my '05. It was probably because I was expecting it to look larger somehow. I did not like all the chrome on the nose, but the rest was good.
Thought you'd be interested!

Re: Saw an '08 in the wild
Interesting. I saw one on I-94 just outside of Dearborn last week, following an older FEH, and being followed by a FEH, with test markings on it; which isn't that unusual, as it looked like a road test for something, which I see every now and then in Dearborn.
However, what is that the model launches for actual FEH's have always been in June.
