Re: Attn. NOVA Drivers - Bill Introduced to Extend NOVA HOV Exemptions

not to mention that if all those hybrids were forced off of Rt 66 and onto backroads, the resulting congestion would be horrific, as would the increased waste in fuel and increased emissions.

Re: 87 vs 91 octane for better mpg?

so a high-compression engine will get better gas mileage, and not just max HP, from using premium gas over regular?

87 vs 91 octane for better mpg?

ok I searched a little bit for an answer to my question, but didn't really find anything. A simple question:

will my car (a FEH, so it does not "require" premium gas), get better gas mileage...

Re: Wheel bearing failed @ 37000 mile NOT covered by Ford

I understand your frustration, but honestly how many other car companies would cover almost $1000 in repairs on a vehicle after the warranty period expires?

Re: Finishing drive with depleted battery for better mpg's?

Yeah I always assumed on the next restart (which for me is usually the next morning) the ICE is going to be running for a few minutes anyway.

The last 1/4 mile to my house is a relatively steep...

Re: Finishing drive with depleted battery for better mpg's?

maybe its as simple as the fact that if you are depleting your battery at the end of a trip, it probably means you are in EV mode, which means you aren't using any gas ;)

Re: Engine revs up on long down hill

I have recently noticed my 2006 FEH doing this when going downhill in L gear, well under 40 mph, and without anywhere close to a full charge showing on the battery display. If I keep it in D and...

Re: FEH Arrived Today, But Trade-in Devalued

IMO if when you see that devaluing clause in your paperwork for a new car order, tell them they need to strike it before you will agree to purchase a car from them. If they refuse, then just walk...

Re: 4wd or awd?

it is an part-time, automatic AWD. It is FWD until traction slip is detected, then it shifts torque to the rear axle as needed (up to 50% I think).

I think the generally accepted distinction...

Re: what HID headlamps for the FEH

I believe the $100k Lexus hybrid sedan uses LED headlamps, and maybe one other car (a BMW? can't remember). Other than that haven't heard of LED being available.

Re: Flashing the PCM - $150 cost?!?

Re: "Customer Satisfaction" work and mileage drop

brian - if you don't mind my asking, what dealership did your customer satisfaction work? I just had that done on my '06 FEH, and I live in Falls Church, so if you had it done at the same place I...

Re: Flashing the PCM - $150 cost?!?

no I understand it isn't part of the battery change. I asked them to do it separate of the battery change. I wanted the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) flashed with the latest software because I...

Flashing the PCM - $150 cost?!?

I am taking my 2006 FEH for its 10k service tomorrow, and for the "customer satisfaction program" fix. I asked the technician to also flash the PCM with the latest software, and he said that unless...

Re: FEH AWD Fuse

how much better is the gas mileage in those subarus when they disable the 4wd? The car still weighs the same, and afaik most of the parts continue to spin, regardless of the mode you're in, so are...

Re: taking '06 FEH for service - anything I should ask for

I live in the DC metro area. No extremely long cold spells or warm spells during the year.

As for the low miles, well we got the FEH in mid 2006 so I've only had it for about 18 months, and I...

taking '06 FEH for service - anything I should ask for

Taking my '06 FEH in for its 10k service. Just wondering if there is anything I should ask them to do that they otherwise wouldn't do on a 10k service for the FEH. For instance, any sort of...

What I am hoping for is some...

Re: Drafting does work! 38mpg+

I don't think anyone will argue that drafting will, in fact, cause you to see better gas mileage. But a discussion about drafting, on a forum where people may be easily swayed by any argument in...
