Default AFM Issue

I was thinking about the AFM problem the other day and realized I did not know if applied to my truck. Specifically is the AFM problem an issue with BOTH the LFA (07-09) and LZ1 (10-13) engines or is the problem confined to just one of them? I know there is not much difference between the two, but I would think they had a handle on the issue by the time the LZ1 came around.

The LFA "early" engine had many more issues.

Actually most AFM had the "problem". The hybrid spends much more time in V4 than the conventional.

On a flat interstate wit ha slight tail wind... see if you can stay V4 for 5 minutes.

Then ask your buds without hybrids if they can do it for 50 seconds.

I do a lot of highspeed freeway driving, but never use cruise control. Generally the revs are moving around alot and I don't sit in V4 for very long.

Any ideas for prevention? I was thinking of asking my dealer to install the shield - however I don't know how involved that is (and if the 2011 engines already had it).

The newer engines are much better. Regular oil changes.

I have 192k miles in my escalade hybrid. I did not realize how I got V4 while cruising while towing the GLK350 or Honda Pilot.
