Default 150 mile daytrip 40MPG..yay!!!

Saturday was the perfect day to hit the Jersey Shore and the perfect day to hit a new record FE number (for us).

150 mile round trip, roughly 65%/35% highway/city driving.

Congrats! It will probably get even better with time!

Slightly related ( only in that it is a Ford )...

I rented a Ford Focus from an airport this week.
Probably has lower psi in the tires ( looks like it ) and I'm getting 43.5 MPG on the highway ( 65 MPH ) with the A/C on low setting in Indiana.

That's 43.5 in a cheap, but comfortable non-hybrid Ford.
Color me impressed.

Kept to the speed limits (except when we had to do 75 in a 65 to keep a truck off our butt.)
Drove 38/39MPH in 40MPH zones to maximize EV.
Slowly increased speed when approaching hills and neutral glides down the other side.

I think the 85+ deg sunny day helped us alot too.
