2006 escape FEH with 150,000mi
I am looking at a 2006 hybrid that has 150000 miles (The owner says it is mostly highway miles) on it and was wondering what are my options and prices for replacement batteries when and if these go. Also the car is driven in N.E. Pa which uses a lot of salt on the highways, do you know what effect this would have on the battery connections and/or life? The owner says it is mostly highway miles. I have never owned one before and was wondering what else I should be aware of before I buy. Thanks.

The batteries practically never fail. If you do end up needing one, you can get used ones on eBay for about $800. There are FEH's being used as taxis, with 300,000+ miles on them, and battery replacement even on them is unusual. There's a 2008 FEH in the US with 500,000 miles on it and it has the original battery.
So far as I know, the electrical stuff is very well protected from corrosion. For instance, some of the important connectors are inside the cargo area.
