Default 4wd scanguage code

Tried this "code" for 4WD:
txd: 07611800FF00
rxf: 045810000000
rxd: 2010
mth: 000100010000
nam: dtc

I used 4WD instead of dtc

This code essentially monitored when you were in EV--note 0000 reading. It appearred higher the last number, greater the horsepower or was it charging of the hybrid battery?

This xgauge is requesting DTCs from the 4WD module. You have confrmed that the 05 4WD module addy is 0761, but I have no idea why you don't always get 0000 for this. Don (econoline) has verified that his 2007 4WD module also responds to 0761. I have learned that there is no on/off 4WD indicator, but there is a PID that gives the percentage of torque going to the rear wheels. I gave Don an xgauge to try but it didn't work. I am still confident that the PID exists, and will give anyone interested in testing it some xgauges to try if/when I can come up with the correct PID. I still have a few more avenues to exhaust in trying to uncover the correct PID.

Wow that sounds like some cool stuff you're working on DD. Sorry I don't have the 4WD to help you out. But I wish you the best of luck!

I will let Carl and the other experts tell us what is being shown on the scanguage.

Since the TXD is a request for all DTCs from the 4WD module, I would suspect that the lower byte you're seeing is a CRC byte. Either that or you have conditions that could trigger a DTC but not for long enough to actually set a DTC. Change RXD to 1010 and you should see 0x58 displayed. If the x is 1 or 2, then you're seeing a CRC byte. If it is a 3 or 4 then it may be a phantom code that never gets set.

I feel fairly confident that the following xgauge will display percentage torque to the rear wheels in an AWD FEH:

TXD: 076122D128
RXF: 046245D10628
RXD: 3008
MTH: 03E800330000
NAM: %RW

Thanks to Don for trying things out on his AWD FEH.

Bingo! Carl nailed it. Here is the photos:
At the stoplight, 0.0 4WD value

Pulling away from the stoplight with a 47.4 4WD value. I have seen as high as 62.6 with my leisurely driving style.

Cruising along with no torque to the rear wheels:

A million thanks to Carl for his endless work. A thank you to the long time poster GaryG who initially (at least what I can remember) alerted us to the value and importance of this aftermarket piece of hardware. Now if version 3.15* would work as the other version, all would be fine.

Billy, I haven't had a chance yet to try the new 4wd xgauge on the road. I see snow in your pictures, so I'm wondering if the torque transfer to the rear wheels is due to the fronts slipping on acceleration? Wondering what rear wheel torque values to expect on dry pavement, always zero?

Bump to show the changes to RXF and MTH. Old ones probably displayed readings that were off by 2x. These may still be off but I remain unable to prove it one way or the other.

I just got the SG-II today and know didly squat about this but this is what I punched in. Not sure where I got these from either! It worked on a '09 FE using a SG-II with v3.16.

TXD
076122D128
RXF
046285D10628
RXD
3008
MTH
00C800330000

But DesertDog suggested this change since it may be displaying 2X:
MTH
006400330000
