Engine block heater install question

Re: Engine block heater install question
Early in the 2008 FEH model year, Ford stopped installing the thin wire to the hybrid battery heater as shown in the photo:
Those with this wire installed can use the engine block heater to turn on the hybrid battery heater along with the engine block heater. Thus, those with the 2009 FEH can not install the option 41H to heat their hybrid battery heater for several hours prior to starting it in the AM. They can use this option to pre-heat their engine block.
The 2009 FEH featured new software and I really can't speak for how well the hybrid battery heats up on very cold winter days. I do recall some owners *****ing about this issue.

Re: Engine block heater install question
There are two components so make sure everyone is clear.
There is a 300-400 watt engine block heater that screws into the engine block to heat the coolent. This should be possible to install in any car, and should be the same on all Ford 2.3L engines. It may or may not have changed when Ford went to the 2.5L engines. I don't know.
