FEH-09 Passed my initial expectations.......
I picked up my 09 yesterday morning and was working from home so only did some short local driving. This morning I took my first trip to work and I am happy to say it passed the first test.
Temp. - 17F when I started it this morning. Let it run w/heat on for about 10 minutes before getting my son in it.
10 minutes - city driving about (6 miles) (dropping son of at daycare let it run about 5 minutes w/heat)
30 minutes - highway no traffic about 70mph (25 miles)
20 minutes - highway heavy traffic between 5 -25 mph (9 miles)
15 minutes - hills and back roads between 25-40 mph (10 miles)
Temp. - 22F When I got to work. 31.4 MPG
Curious to see the change on the return drive @ 5:00 when traffic is heavier.
It's certainly a fun vehicle to drive though.

If the speed limit allows "Traveling at 60 mph [96 km/h] uses approximately 20% less fuel than traveling at 70 mph." - Straight from the owners manual. Glad you like it so far!

My morning drive generally allows 45-60 on the highway. With some heavy traffic resulting in 5-10 mph for short periods of time. I feel like the Escape is a good fit for my driving style. I'm excited to see my results in the warmer weather.
