First, you go to www.forddirect.com and you can look at the dealers' inventory and see the x-plan price on the screen for each car. Find the one you want, go to the dealer and tell them you have a PIN for x-plan. If you have a trade, might want to get the appraisal done on the trade before you tell them x-plan, but anyhow, that's about it. You get the price with no haggling. I have read that some dealers pack on aftermarket crap like paint sealant, and they still want to get paid for it even with x-plan. I would probably walk if that was the case.

I must have a cookie set from the x-plan website. Not sure how you can get in there, I got a code specific to my employer. As I understand it, you can request the vehicle invoice from the dealer and validate that you're getting the right price. On the vehicle I'm looking at, it was about $1400 below MSRP, which was ~$28,000 before the discounts and rebates.

So the deal they are offering me isn't to bad then one is:
$1424.54 below MSRP including TT&L
and the other is:
$1481.63 below MSRP including TT&L, both are out the door totals.

Offers are:
$26563 (with MSRP of $27815) &
$26056 (with MSRP of $27220)

Red face Re: New owner (maybe)

I heard April '07 as a date for the 2008 FEHs to hit the dealer lots. [....don't remember where I heard it so I am not too confident that it is correct] I do remember one person saying Ford would no longer take custom orders on 07s - which I took to mean they were already re-tooling at the KC plant to produce the 08s.

Actually, expect the reverse. Ford is trying to keep it secret, but early word has been that the EPA MPGs are down, both because of tires, and other slight changes.
