Question on Tires for FEH
Guys, this might open a new can of worms, but I'm looking for insight from you more experienced folks on replacement tires. Not brands, but sizes. I looked in other threads but didn't really find anything that fit this one.
I know the current trend seems to lean to Michelin Latitudes vice the Contis, which aren't really available anymore. However, what about size mods? I'm considering changing to 215/75-16 from my 235/70-16 tires currently on the FEH. They are Destination LEs, fairly noisy on the road.
Going to the 215 fits in the Plus Zero category, so overall diameter stays the same, but the footprint is a shade narrower. Logic says that should help mileage a bit more, but I'm more concerned about effects on the car itself.
Any thoughts are appreciated. I'll be getting new rubber in about two months.
