I bought my loaded mint condition black 4WD 06 (it has every single factory option) with 3800 miles on it for $20,000

I'm in Baltimore and just got an 08 AWD Escape Hybrid with the 110V AC outlet.

MSRP= 27670
I paid= 26755 (after rebate, before tax/title etc...)

Check out Edmunds.com and use their true market value pricing. i took this to the salesman and that's pretty much the price I got.

Good luck,
Todd

I paid about 2k less than sticker, but they loballed me on my trade in by about 1k.

In another post I think you said "on the island"... if you live in Hawaii you might not be able to get a real good deal. I have a friend who lives there and he says "they pay you in sunshine"

I paid $24,400 for my 2008 FWD with the sun and sound package (moonroof and Sirius). MSRP was $26,700. I sort of did x-plan; through my union we get access to "fleet sales;" people were having trouble with the concept so said "oh, x-plan." When I went to pick him up, the dealer asked for the x-plan number. When I explained that the owner of the dealership and I had negotiated to this price, the finance guy kind of grumbled and said he'd figure out how to explain this. I was also low-balled on my trade in; KBB said 15,000, and they gave me 13000. I ended up upside down on my tradein, but with the savings in sales tax I figured it was okay.

I ordered my 2008 Mercury Mariner for 30,250 which included 6% sales tax. I had no trade in. This also included 500 finance on my own and 500 college student discount(was so glad my masters degree is doing something usefull!)

I purchased every option, except for AWD.

Wow...I find the "X" plan information an eye opener. My dad was a Ford Employee for 27.5 years when they closed the Pico Rivera plant from under all the guys and "retired" him. The up side was the "Z" plan for my parents and their kids. Detroit is always "grilling" my mom about which kids are buying what and why and always reminding her of the limits of the plan.
Now I see that it appears to be a bunch of BS since people are giving PIN numbers to everyone. Oh well, lesson learned!

2007 FEH 2WD $26,343.36 including tax & license
Retiree voucher 1,000.00 credit
Total $25,343.36
4 yr loan @ 0.90% Purchased 10/2006
